He's also almost lost to Nicholls, Georgia Southern, and South Alabama, he is not Woodward's guy.
Ummm, Saban lost to ULM and UAB and almost lost to Georgia Southern.
At larger schools

I love how yall are comparing him to Saban like he's the chosen one.

Kinda makes sense that he doesn’t want to bite on offers that are only slightly better talent wise than what he has at ULL . He is not going to uproot the family unless it is a big time school that can routinely recruit studs . Don’t blame him . If Saban would have stayed at LSU …instead of running around … how many Nattys ? potential political aspirations later ??

You must know him personally.

He beat South Alabama by 2 whole points. LSU fans would lynch him if he did that at LSU
Pretty sure with LSU’s talent, he would beat them by at least 3.
Hell, he could probably even beat Troy or UAB.

But he beat them . Fans forget the margin . Even LSU fans .

There can be others that can coach and run programs like a Saban.
He's not some demi-God, ya know. I was pointing out he lost games to lesser programs.

Is Tom Herman still kisding his players ? I thought that was really WEIRD and potentially a lawsuit !

Tom Herman used to insist on kissing his players before games . Too weird ! potentially a lawsuit !

At first I thought you double posted, but you actually stated it differently in the 2nd post.

We need a sexy hire. We need our coach to look like a smoke show in a g-string

Nope . Just what I read . You can have great schemes and coaching , you need the athletes . Kinda makes sense to hang out in the Sunbelt conf .
win and win and wait … for a great opportunity … like …
LSU … best job in the USA .

Hungry arse intense coaches don't do this, they don't "hang out".

He's got a good thing going at ULL for what it is. He's making a million a year, plenty of left-over 3 star talent in state after the SEC schools, supportive university admin. So he's in a good spot. He's already turned down a few power 5 offers, so time will tell what he wants to do

I like him a lot and he’s probably my first choice but… I keep going back to one of their games I watched last year where he must have been on shrooms:
ULL 24
App State 19
1:56 4Q
2nd and 9 - 7yd run
3rd and 2 - INCOMPLETE pass, stops clock
Now it’s 4th and 2 at your own 32. First down wins it. The conditions are awful and your punter hasn’t been able to get it off cleanly and the last attempt resulted in a safety.
EDIT: instead of even trying to pick it up or punt he takes an intentional safety.
They got lucky and Appy missed a 30 yarder at the buzzer.

My thread got anchored, but this is a prime example of what I am talking about. 7 yard run on 2nd down...so what do you do? Of course, try a pass.

Exactly. I remember sitting there thinking “well guess I was wrong about him”
The conditions are awful and have already cost you points; you need 2 yards to win, the clock on your side and have a QB and two RBs that are plus runners.
So first you run a play that you know can stop the clock, then you snap it back 15 yards which hadn’t worked all night.
You’ve gotta hang your hat on 2 rushes to get 2 yards.

Good grief!
Since Charley Mac retired, LSU has mostly hired coaches with P5 or NFL head coaching experience. They twice hired LSU insiders, Stovall & Archer (both flops). They went outside the P5 just one time, Curley Hallman.
Scott Woodward will absolutely not risk his legacy by going down the Curley route, an even bigger flop.
FYI:
.770 Miles
.750 Saban
.750 Arnsparger
.750 Orgeron
.598 Archer
.570 Dinardo
.511 Stovall
.364 Hallman
Napier simply ain't happening.

They lost to App State in 2019 for not running in the fourth quarter too, after running for damn near 5-6 ypc all game
