i worry more about the players who work very hard and many wont be playing on sundays. i would never forgive miles as a player if he held held us back due to poor clock managment, player develpent, play calling, and gameplanning
I do too to an extent, but I realized after last year that I was worrying for no reason. Look at LaFell. He's starting this year for the Carolina Panthers after being on an offense that was worse than the one we have this year.
If you have the talent and play for LSU, then you will definitely get exposure. LSU is on national television every single week. NFL scouts can't help but see LSU talent on display every week and they can tell when a receiver is being held back because of poor QB play. They are paid very well to know the difference between poor QB play and poor receiver play. They can even tell when it's crappy coaching holding a kid back.

Then I ask you this how can you show a coach that you aren't pleased by what they are doing
I don't know. Write a letter? Maybe post on a message board. Booing during the game is the absolutely worst thing to do. You are getting into the heads of the kids playing the game. Remember that they are NOT professionals yet.

This isn't peewee or high school football. Fans are spending a lot of money and their time to be there to watch LSU. It's very hard to use this never boo mentality when the coach is getting paid 4 million a year.
I know a lot of people think that since they spend a lot of money on tickets that they have a "right" to have some say as to how the team is run. Having 92,000 "coaches" in the stands and 0 fans doesn't make a team better. Have faith in the people in charge that they know what they are doing. If the coach is doing terrible and not winning games that he should obviously be winning then I would think the AD would remove him.
Just because we sometimes don't like that we barely beat a team here or that the coach didn't call the play we wanted him to call doesn't mean that we have any say in if that coach is fired. It's a fact of being a fan that you don't always get your way.
I disagree with your notion that the players are kids in college. I would call them young adults that can deal with some criticism.
I know as a fan I won't always get my way but think of it as a stockholder. If the company your investing money into isn't doing to well you want to voice your opinion. The fans are what run the program and the reason Les Miles is having a very nice life away from football.

Please don't think that people booing is going to cause a man who's lively hood is on the line to start listening to the whims of fickle fans.
sorry, its hard to convey sarcasm in type. the point was that it took miles this long to decide to give the ball to his playmakers. i thought the statement was sarcastic enough

but...they are kids in college. There is no debating that fact.

Sure they can. They aren't all fragile egos. I'm just saying that an 18 year old is not going to respond to booing like a professional will.
If you can give me a positive that comes from booing a team not doing good then I will consider changing my mind on booing the Tigers.
And I won't accept "it makes the coach change his play calling" because it doesn't. It hasn't changed a thing all year and it won't change anything in the future.

I just don't agree with this metaphor. I don't think that everybody that drops a dime on LSU football has an right to have their voice heard. It's a fallacy.

You'd be surprised at how many people think that booing changes things. I've read posts on here that said exactly what you said, but weren't sarcastic.

My friend who is a Bama fan told me the key to us winning would be the play of Jefferson. He didn't think we could beat Alabama without him. It's sad that outside fans can see what we can't.

This is just my personal opinion on this because I don't like the idea that our nation is sending kids to war.
To the booing factor I'll agree to disagree. It's not good to boo but it's not good to be delusional. LSU fans are some of the most emotional fans in the nation. It's very hard to tell these fans to sit back and not show displeasure when the coaches really haven't taken any chances with the offense. Then the coaches have been confused and almost lost us games like Tennessee this year.

It is sad when a team feels like their own fanbase isn't behind them.
There is a very vocal minority that think they speak for the entire fanbase, but in all, the majority fans around the state and country are LSU fans above all else.
quote:
Glad this team is so strong
Very true. In my thread listing coach Miles' pros and cons, I listed "family man" as a pro. Some thought that this had nothing to do with football, but this team and this game proved otherwise. There is something to be said when you can play for more than just a win, but rather for your coach and "brothers" on the team. That starts and ends with Miles.
quote:
Please for the sake of the Tigers nega's go find another team to be a fan of
Every team has emotional fans like most of these Negatigers. Their concerns were well documented and legitimate. Although they continued to voice their displeasure a little too often for me, they have a place in every program. Most have shut up after the win, and that is what winning will do for those fans.
quote:
LSU deserves better than what they have been getting.
In the national media? Of course. In the local media? Probably. But outside of the media and some rogue fans, this state is still behind LSU and have been for some time. Louisianians tend to be bandwagon-ish, but they still root for the Tigers every weekend.

I know this is hard for some people to understand, but when a kid plays for a team that kid tends to stick up for EVERY person on the team. ESPECIALLY a coach.
Have you ever played organized sports? The coach is always revered by the players even if the coach isn't the best.
Wrong. I played on a high school team that played for the state championship. To this day I love every one of my teammates. To this day I have little respect for our head coach, who was also my position coach. We had two good Coorindators who were respected and the rest of the coaching staff knew little football.
Sometimes players excel dispite their coaches.
