I didn't know he was such a great passer.
Posted on 10/8/10 at 11:57 am to Brett425
he looks comfortable in the pocket unlike jefferson

Les has no want to run the wildcat.

When I've posted to put Shep at QB which is about 85% of my post; ranter after ranter says he can't throw. He doesn't have the arm. So I wonder how could he not throw now and the only thing I can think of is there was some horrible accident and LSU didn't want anyone to know.

We wouldn't want to play RS at qb & take time away from jj.

Hey, what if we ran the wild tiger with a real-life actual wild tiger? That would be badass...

And lots of gouged jugular veins, opened chest cavities, and intestinal displacement.

man I hope we can get this guy!
seriously, I was looking at this for something to complain about, then it became very obvious what the problem with the whole thing is... except for that last part when the LSU drum cadence was playin.... the music really was freakin annoying!
ETA: GEAUX SHEP!! GC needs to quit talkin about it and get him the ball!

Because you rely on someone else (Miles, Crowton) to think for you. I saw this video and others before he set foot in BR in Jan '09. I was so pumped up watching him throw the ball downfield, over the middle, and on target that I had myself convinced that Les Miles couldn't frick this up and LSU was about to explode on offense with the RB/WR talent we had.
Ha Ha. The joke was on me. And Russel.
Another item. Most legit recruiting outfits know how to project players at the next level. Ex: Spencer Ware excellent HS QB alway projected as ATH/RB. EX 2:Rueban Randle threw for over 2,500 yds as Senior, yet always listed as WR.
Russel Shepard: #1Dueal Threat QB. NOT WR!!!

That's b/c Les recruited him as a QB.
And b/c he wanted to play QB.
and b/c he spent his free time his senior year working with Jeff Blake to become a better passer.
And we're supposed to believe he got to LSU and all of the sudden just didnt want to play QB anymore. Or maybe he's just a smart guy and adapted to the situation he was in, namely that he was playing for an old-school guy who never actually intended to let an athlete like that play QB.

Shep does not throw the ball well enough..
Can he line up and run the ball.. why the hell not?
The occasional pass should work...
that's all though..
