Glad it didn't drag on at all. Myles was never going to play this game.

Who here really thought Myles was going to start less than 2 weeks after tearing his abdomen?

Coach O isn't going to give a definitive answer until the team leaves Baton Rouge for Auburn, with or without Myles. He's not going to show his hand to Gus even if he knows who is going to be playing. Anything else before then is going to be purely conjecture. We heard the same type of stuff from Orgeron the week of the originally scheduled Florida game 2 weeks ago. We heard Myles may or may not play and that he hadn't practiced yet, and we weren't sure that he was out and who was starting last weekend until Friday afternoon. I expect the same timeline to occur this week. He'll keep Gus guessing until the travel roster is posted.

However, my gut tells me that, given the nature of Myles' injury, he won't be playing this weekend. With torn muscles, they're just so tricky and unpredictable. Guys will have torn muscles, feel fine, make one awkward movement, and be right back at square one. I really hate it for Myles with all he's battled through, his commitment to the program, and how hard he's worked, but if we want him back at some point this season, we have to make sure he's 100% healthy, otherwise, we could set his recovery back even further. Lucky for us, it appears for the first time in a long, long time, we have a very capable backup (possibly two) that can win football games for us. Not a bad problem to have under the circumstances.

Good for it to drag. As long as team knows whats going on, that's all that matters. Now Auburn knows exactly how to prepare. Before it was a toss up.

I'll trust your gut 100%, but I will also trust my eyes,

"Coach Ed Orgeron says quarterback Myles Brennan hasn't practiced this week, doesn't expect him to play"

is enough to know, he ain't playing!

Right, but he hasn't ruled him out yet either. He didn't officially rule Myles out of last week's game until Friday afternoon.

How is preparing for Finley or Brennan any different?

Really? ok..

Well, we can start with mobility for one. Finley is used more in run game. I saw more RPO with Finely. These are just two things. Yes there is preparation involved. Like what defensive play and alignment they might call due to just those two things are certain down and distances. This is basic shite bro

I'd argue that Finley is no more mobile than Brennan.

Thats more of preparation for facing LSU's offensive coordinator than the quarterback.

probably so but finley will pull the ball and run thus making the end crashing have to read the qb.

Will he?

The vast majority of his runs came on designed quarterback runs.

And averaged 3 yards per carry.

We saw Myles average 4.6 just last season.

Fair enough, however...

Orgeron didn't officially rule Myles out of last week's game until Friday afternoon but, on Monday of that week, Brennan was "questionable" with a "significant" injury.

Orgeron reports that, Myles hasn't practiced so far this week and he doesn't expect him to play.

You want to wait for an official announcement, be my guest, but I think it is very safe to say, he isn't playing.

No reason to rush anything since Finley has shown he can play and they believe Max Johnson is right there with Finley.

Worst case scenario, you throw in Johnson if Finley struggles.

I expected they would try to rest Brennan another game week + the bye week before rushing him back too soon.

Could still be wrong, but this seemed logical.
