I hope she’s not assigned to guard Caitlin Clark

Maybe, right now it is not clear what she does well?

She will. The handled OM pretty well. It's basically a 1 game season right now. We'll see if she figures it out by then.

Handles the ball well. Can shoot if they give her space. Obviously needs to work on passing but I think that will come with playing time and learning the system

I think HVL is okay with the ball in the half court but I raise concern her ability to handle the press in general, she isn't naturally quick. Some of the issues though is she dribble straight into the trap or into the sideline where its easy to trapped, that is something that has to get coached for the future. I find some of LSU's turnover issues all stem from all the guard 'forcing' the ball into the post when its not there at times, that I would say is more on Mulkey than any individual.

But the reality is no one on this roster has what Alexis Morris brought to the table from a PG perspective. Even more so, that small quick perimeter defender that limited dribble penetration.

I notice Kim has given Williams more of the ball handling responsibilities lately and getting HVL off the ball at times. I'm just happy HVL finally shot the ball today and hunted for her shot, that what she needs to continue to do, thats her best skillset.

She’s a 2 Guard and not a natural PG. Mulkey is doing a masterful job with this team without having a true point guard.

Come tournament time, when guard play is of utmost importance, it could be an issue.

Her dribbling straight into the trap has a lot to do with learning the position. You’re right Alexis Morris being elite athletically but not many like her(you can see why Kim kept bringing her back). I don’t think many teams in the country are as good defensively as Ole Miss. not even in South Carolina so we’ll see.

And also agree about HVL shooting more. She’s been hesitant for some reason. But needs to let it rip. That’s her super power and it will give confidence to be a better PG

LSU is scoring a shite load of points with no true pG and LSU still has yet to see the best of HVLs offense

The key will be the defense over the next two months and their growth. The offense can score with anyone in the country

But this is a way different roster than last year with far different strengths and transfers with different backgrounds. The D may not click until later on unfortunately. I trust lsu will be clicking when it counts. The loss of smith is a major blow as her defensive presence was massive for this team.

Just got to take it one game at a time. Ole Miss has a tough style of play to play against and it was on the road. Today was good for the team and will do them good long term

Anybody see her call game with a game-winning walk off shot the other night? She's just unreal.

She just has to pass and hit open shots.

And figure out the press

Against teams that try to press like OM today, I think it should be Flaujae and Mikaylah handing the ball for the most part. Reese in the middle. HVL and Morrow/Poa/whoever down the court on the wings. Let Flaujae and Mikaylah are a bit taller and longer to pass over/around the press. When the ball gets pushed up the court, now you've got HVL in creating/scoring opportunities which is what she is great at.

In half court, she's not your ideal PG but we seem to be doing just fine averaging 90+ PPG and scoring 84 against OM who was holding teams in the 50s on average.
