Because that is exactly what happens. An otherwise 8-4 team that could be ranked is now 7-5 and unranked.
And that is the problem with your "simple math"

On top of that we play the toughest ooc slate in the nation bar none.
Very debatable and even though you are not mentioning it I know you are using those Sagarin "rankings" again with that statement...

No I mean we play more tough teams and less shitty one's than anyone else. Just to name a few, Ohio St., Georgia, Oklahoma, Tennessee, BYU, etc....

Outside of BYU we have played those same teams and won including NC's but you are right, we have played some shitty teams OOC...we've played Oregon State, Arizona, Arizona State...etc...

Exactly so the best/worst the confernce could do by adding the 9th conference game is .500. (you just contradicted your previous argument/post) Conversely, when the 12th game was added most conferences, not just the SEC added some creampuff at home. Winning percentage for those games are .800+. So in the PAC-10 you are going to have a few either 7-5 or 8-4 teams that would have otherwise been 8-4 or 9-3 and thus "ranked". Capiche?
Yeah, I capiche. Your original statement is still wrong. And now you're mixing in non-conference games into your argument. And that would be a reasonable argument if you played in a good conference.
If I were you, I'd get my money back on that "Million Man Math" correspondence course.

And how can you say SC plays more tough teams when 2 of the 5 you listed are SEC teams, hmmm?

I didn't contradict anything. I just made the incorrect assumption that you knew the 9th conference game was there as opposed to a ooc game. I should have known I was dealing with rantards, my mistake.

I was listing teams that the PAC-10 plays in it's very tough non-conference schedule.

So what, you're saying another in-conference opponent is automatically better that an OOC opponent?
So how does VT compare to Wash. State?
I agree that at least SC plays a pretty good non-conf schedule, but they have to in order to compensate for the weakness of their conference and I think that's a smart move on their part.
LSU has no such problem. We have Florida, UGA, Auburn, Tennessee most every year. And then there's the conference championship. Yeah LSU plays some weak OOC opponents, esp this year, but they also play teams like VT and Arizona. If you want to see one of the biggest differences between the conferences, look at the coaches and the NC's they've won. It's not even close.

So how does VT compare to Wash. State? A more apt comparision would be Washington St. to North Texas, or some 1AA scrub. Your more typical ooc opponent.

LSU has no such problem. We have Florida, UGA, Auburn, Tennessee most every year. Really you usually play FLorida, Tennessee and Georgia from the east? No I don't think so seeing as you didn't have either Tennessee or Georgia scheduled last year. You play Florida every year then rotate the other eastern opponents.

Yeah their about the same but at least North Texas is an OOC opponent for us while WSU is an in-conference for you...so much for the "round robin"

You need to do some research...Yes we do including this decade, 2002 if I'm not mistaken, is the only year in which we only played Florida and did not meet UGA or Tenn. during the season, the other years we have played Florida, UGA and Tennessee or at least two out of the 3 and they don't have to be on the schedule either, we have met in the SECCG which is also a conference game including 2001 and 2003 in which we had to play UT and UGA twice in the season to win the conference, another luxury USC doesn't have to face to win their conference...

I am mearly pointing out a fact that with every team in the PAC-10 playing 9 conference games as opposed to 8, then the overall records of the conference will suffer therfore leading to less "ranked" teams. Simple math, well simple for most of us at least.
What was the score of the Oregon/USC game in '03? Oh, that's right they didn't play.

"Florida plays Florida State every year.
COCKS play Clemson every year.
UGA plays GA Tech every year. Worked Oklahoma State last year. Play ASU this year. (ASU will get worked).
Bama played FSU last year, Clemson this year.
Tennesse worked Cal 2 years ago, lost to Cal last year, play UCLA this year.
Auburn worked Wash State 2 years ago, Kansas State last year, play WVU this year.
LSU worked VT last year, worked AZ 2 years ago."

Oh, and LSU opens @Washington next year. Let's see how that works out for the Huskies.

You sure do, and thank God because you play exactly ZERO ranked teams on the road... not a single damn one.
@VA (with no QB)
@Wash St
@Ore St
@AZ
@Stanford
Yeah that is quite the daunting gauntlet now isnt it...none of those teams could be even close to a top 25 team (although Ore St did with 31 of Cinci last year

Wow, what intimidating road games. Much harder than Gainesville, Knoxville, Tuscaloosa, Auburn, Athens, etc.....USC better have their chin straps buckled tight for that monster game in Tucson. That should be a knock-down-drag-out classic.

USC would be just as dominant anywhere. In our 4 games with SEC teams we have had 1 which was competitive. Every other one was a blowout. Our 2 wins over Arkasnas were far worse than any SEC team could do to them. In fact in 2005 USC beat Arkansas by more points than the rest of the SEC COMBINED!!!
Thats because for USC, that game was their biggest game. They really have no big conference games to get jacked up for, so they bring their best game for the best team. USC probably got geared up for that game the way LSU gets geared up for an SECCG.
