Herbie getting his boys ready for pre-season #2 next year. And they'll still be on probation and in-eligible for a BCS game.

USC is bowl eligible next season for any game, including BCS bowls.

Would Arizona State beat LSU (or Alabama) by 3 TDs like they did USC? That's laughable

Why do people believe in this transitive property of teams? ASU lost to UCLA, who USC beat by 50. Does that make USC better than USC?

USC is a very young team that got better a the sseason wore on, ASU otoh, fell apart. That happens all the time in CFB.

Of course its meaningless hyperbole to say USC could go toe to toe with LSU because they will not play. They do have a lot of young talent and will be legit contenders next year in the Pac 12 and if Barkely comes back, for the 2012/13 BCS CG.

Ergo, give any reasonable basis to promote USC and to endear Herbie to that large demographic, and wahlah....that is not amazing, that is logical and sad.

amazing how more do not understand this point.

You want no part of LSU. You can run your head behind your keyboard, but you know what would happen if they played. Probation eats teams up on the back end and you will realize this soon enough. That said, I would like nothing more then to watch LSU step on your head and crush your skull.

Just another team getting their hopes and dreams crushed by Les Miles.

I like TD a lot, but I never underestimate the incapacity of Les Rantardes to grasp the simplest concepts of commerce.

You are dead wrong. I want USC to play the best there is. If we lose, we lose. But we fight hard, and if you play USC you will know that you have been hit right in the mouth. Believe that.

Are you originally from Southern California? It must suck to be stuck in Lower Alabama if you are in fact from the LA area. Must be one hell of a job if that is what the reason is.

Pimping USC to be preseason #1. Looks like ESPN has been given their marching orders.

You and your team better stick to the weekend pillow fights which go on in the Pac 12. All I can remember is after LSU beat Oregon, Chip Kelly stated something to the effect that they just don't see these types of athletes (LSU) in the Pac. At that point, I laughed and said to myself what about USC? I thought about it some more and decided I should take Coach Kelly at his word since he's won that conference 3 years in a row.

BTW, where is your little tag team partner Tangy been this year? Must be a tough year for him in BR.

FWIW, this question was posed to a vegas analyst on the Mason and Ireland show here in SOCAL on ESPN Radio. The question was, how many teams would be favored against USC on a neutral field. This was at the end of the year when USC fans started thinking that the Trojans are the shite again. The other teams don't matter for this conversation, but regarding LSU all 3 had LSU favored with the two hosts giving USC 5 and 11 points. Both were surprised to here the analyst say that USC would be given at least 13.5 points on a neutral field. When they protested he said, "I'll tell you like I tell everyone else that thinks they no more than we do in setting the lines, the money's there for the taking!"

Coach Kelly couldn't see those USC athletes as they were streaking towards the endzone on the way to beating Oregon in Autzen Stadium.

Which was nice.

Who is giving these "marching orders"?

Are you guys so insecure/stupid that you think its beyond the realm of possibility that USC could be *gasp* a good team? Do you honestly think no one could possible beleive that USC is a top 5 team, that the only reason they say that is to cater to the LA market?

Not a bad comeback. I thought his statement about "LSU athletes" was a backside kick in the balls to USC. USC has great athletes, but not enough right now to play with an animal like LSU. USC's fatigue was very telling in the overtime game against Stanford. Stanford is no LSU.

You damn right ESPN wants to cater to the LA market. I'm not saying USC isn't a good team, cause they are. But pimping USC draws in the ratings. Think back to 2005 when ESPN was pimping USC as the greatest team in the history of mankind. It's simply to appeal to the LA market. This does no way suggest USC is not a top 5 team, cause I think they are and they will be next season.

Depends, if LSU played againt USC the way we did in the first half vs UGA, it would be a different game. I do think we'd eventually wear them out like we've done to everyone else. I do think USC would be at worst the 3rd best team we played.
