re: Herbie would take USC on a neutral field vs LSU

OU,Texas, USC, Ohio st, Fla St, Miami, Penn St, Neb, and the rest don't have enough horses to stop the streak. Their best chance is to have the SEC beat each other up and eliminate themselves from the title game.
OU has been there before and fallen short against the SEC, as has Ohio State. FSU has great talent year in, year out but struggles to win their conference nonetheless. Miami, Penn State and Texas are in a state of flux.
I think the nation's best chance at dethroning the SEC is USC. But I am biased.

USC got destroyed by Arizona State.
I find it funny that so many are commenting who have not even seen USC play much this year. I myself have seen every LSU game and USC game this year. I agree with Herby on this one. Here is why.
ASU actually was very loaded and rocking when they beat USC. But ASU got a lot of very key guys injured and it derailed them. ASU just collapsed. ASU was very good when they beat USC. USC at the time did not really click yet as a team. They only started clicking from the ND game on. And the later part of the season USC came alive and was looking like a completely different team.
When USC beat my team in our house I watched and said, holy crap, they are back. Barkley was literally lights out. They played like USC back in their prime, 2004 or 2005 days... And then their UCLA game. Oh man.... that was near perfect football played as could be played. And I hate USC btw... But at least I am honest.
Stanford, we beat very bad. I drove down to that game and saw firsthand. But any wise PAC guy knows Stanford is a terrible matchup to my Ducks as they are a very slow team. But USC matches up really nice, better then any PAC team. They have way more talent, top to bottom then my team. They get all the 5 star guys. We have to devolope our lowly 2 or 3 star guys and most of the time get just a couple of 4 star skill guys, which helps. But they at USC are big, and fast, kind of like LSU, but more so.
They really got their Offense to just click with the deep ball throws to their excellent WR's. And they have 2 that many think may be some of the best in the country. I agree, they are incredible. And well, Barkley was playing at a level in the later part of the season that made Luck look like a highschool player. Barkley could not of done any better end of season almost, near perfect- lights out.
Do not tell any USC fan I am admitting this however. Their ego is already too big. Anyways, I doubt many of you have seen all the USC games and LSU games this year such as I have. If you did, you might take a different view. But you probably cannot take off your LSU bias glasses. I don't have any bias because I don't like either of ya. lol
The key to USC is if Barkley comes back or not. If he does, they might be preseason #1, though I think LSU should be with all that young talent coming back for you. Scary, but LSU might even be better next year! If Barkley does not come back, then someone at USC who has never taken a snap will have to QB there. And as all guys that know CFB well, the PAC is all about Offense and passing. So good QB passing is very important, way more so in the PAC. My guess is that they suffer much because of a brand new QB. However USC does always pick up the very best top QB's in the country every year and have known to always have reserves at QB that are better then most Starters at any other program.
Now LSU may indeed beat USC if they played right now. However as I have said, I have seen every game of each all this year and I would easily put a grand down on USC, if I had to bet. But that just me...Take it for what its worth.

what bowl game is USC in this year? i gotta watch this juggernaut they speak of
Posted on 12/18/11 at 10:36 am to burke985
USC just like every other team would get beat by 2 touchdowns or more. The only team that would get close to beating us is the team that we will be playing. No team could stand up to our depth and the offense USC supposedly has playing in the PAC would not be much when playing this SEC defense! OREGON when will you learn. The team you played is a very different team now; besides we made you all look bad then! HERBIE is just doing his job. As an LSU fan in his position I would probably say the same thing while the camera was rolling to get the attention. USC and TEXAS have the type of schools to bring in the big players, but I think it's kind of too late to be able to bring in a bunch of stellar atheletes to compete with the SEC "LSU, and Bama" now.

Maybe, and then maybe the LSU 5-0 record vs Top 25 teams and the USC 2-1 record vs Top 25 teams colors my thinking more than "LSU bias glasses".
Add the less than mediocre USC D:
Total D= 54
Scoring D= 47
Passing D= 101
Throw in the LSU punt return game, net punting, and T/O margin and anyone taking USC anywhere over LSU needs to be concerned over their own bias and not mine.

I think Oklahoma St would give you fits, however again I say LSU is the best, and you would not run over USC

Yeah, yeah, yeah. We heard that from Oregon, WVU, Bama, Georgia, Arky, you name it.
LSU runs over nearly every team it plays because of superior depth. When a 3rd string DT is playing lights out against a worn-out 1st string OL, that OL begins to let doubt creep into his head and frustration because the LSU defense doesn't seem to get tired.
THAT's why LSU would run over USC. I watched that Stanford game, and your guys were getting gassed. In OT v. Bama, LSU still looked fresh. Bama was licking dirt from being so damned tired.

I totally agree .... and I have said the same... all season long, same Ole song and dance... with the same results, and one just can't deny the results, unless your a delusional fan ...... which is obviously the case here.

Holy shite this is awesome. The only way that the pride of the PAC is even relevant is in Herbi's land of unicorns, rainbows, and gummi bears. Whatever helps you sleep at night princesses.

Naw, they'll find a way to drop one against inferior opposition, just like the cowpokes did this year, and just like the condoms do every year, and Herbie and all the other condom-lickers will wail and gnash their teeth about what a pity it is that such a powerful USC team is getting left out of the BCSNC game with no justification.

Only teams that can beat LSU are teams that can go as deep as LSU
I don't even care if a team has better starters (which is unlikely) or starters of equal quality...you have to go 2 deep and in cases of the line 3 deep in order to not lose by 2 or more scores in the end

That would depend entirely on their schedule..if they had UGA's schedule Im fairly confident they would find themselves in a similar situation as UGA
