an aggressive, attacking offense with a lot of spread. He didn't spread them out the other night. He didn't use motions and shifts and misdirections to get their D-linemen a little off balance. Nosir, our o-linemen were expected to straight-up block those big mooses all night. Then after the game they got all the blame. Anybody with any sense at all knows you have to spread them 5 wide and stay in the shotgun and throw throw throw to have any chance of setting up the run. And your QB has to RPO. Dabo at Clemson does this. Freeze did this. Its your only chance in hell to go toe to toe with them. You still probably won't beat them, but it gives you a decent chance.

We had 6 blocking 4 and couldn't do it. No amount of motion was going to get the Bama DL off-balance.

We tried shifts, they didn't work.

Misdirection takes time. Longer than the 1.5 seconds Burrow had.

Spread them frickers out and run where they ain't. Freeze and Dabo are masters at it. Hell, Freeze did it with Bo Wallace at QB. That guy sells insurance now.

I agree. that was the sorriest effort of an offensive game plan that I may have ever seen in the 60 years that I have watched LSU football. It looked as if a high school team was playing against a good college team. Total domination doesn't even come close to what alabama did to this team.

There's an article on Nola.com that explains bama threw stuff at Lsu that they weren't prepared for. I know it is mind boggling stuff but Bamas big wrinkle... was they ran more zone coverage then Lsu was prepared for and E wanted Burrow to be more patient. I'm sure it's easy to be more patient and find holes in zone coverage when Bama 300 pounder are on you in 1.5 seconds.

I'm not joking, this staff and all its paid analysts were blown away Bama ran Zone. I put just as much blame on the staff as any player.

Bama switched to zone and owned him.

I dont fault the play calling when everything you prepped is designed for man to man. And your Line is getting owned by 3 man rush.

What the hell was E thinking? The 2 best QB's in the last decade or so (P. Manning and Brady) got rid of the ball in 1.75 to 2.25 seconds on most plays. Quick hitters.

This maximizes your O line and minimizes their D-line. It ain't rocket science.

And use the RB's as pass targets. They both catch the ball more consistently than the WR's. And to go back to the Patriots passing game as a model - their RB White has almost twice as many targets (81) as any other receiver. Edelman is next at 44, and then Gronk at 43.

Quick short passes rock (and win championships)

I had high hopes for Burrow in this game. He didnt have a good game. Against Bama you have to play faster. The entire offense needed to play faster. Burrow seems like he can read defenses. He needs to learn how to throw his receivers open. Find the one-on-one matchup and throw the ball. Gotta give the receiver and opportunity to make the play instead of waiting for them to get open and take a sack. I think he has lost his trust in all of his receivers except for Jefferson. I really dont understand why Marshall and Chase arent the starters with JJ. fricking Giles is our Welter on Offense and Derrick Dillon isn't used correctly.

That's right, Buckeye Jeaux. Ensminger really made himself look like a bafoon. He got a little bit of a pass for that whooping he got in 2016, but we ain't cutting him any slack on this beatdown. Its 100% on him.

You sure as hell did before the Georgia game (I had specific complaints about the play-calling against Florida) and the Miss State game, as well.

Someone claimed "Miss State is the best defense LSU faces all year" -- yeah, apparently not!

Why the hell is he sitting way up in that booth if he can't view what the defense is doing and adjust accordingly. It appears to me he does not know how to adjust. We all saw it. Clyde the Orangutan could see it. Why the hell couldn't the O.C. see it? Or does he not understand how to combat it? Or is it an ego thing?

I complained a bunch we kicked what 5 fn field goals and you guys were so estactic it was a freaking joke. We have been saying since day 1 Steve wasn't it and he would get owned by good def. Look vs miss state 1 td thanks to def, lost to Florida and 0 points against Bama, same shite back in 2016

I swear some of you either don't watch the games or have no clue what yall are watching. And bc of this there is no reason to explain why we tried so many different formations
