J Mitch was drafted in the first round this year (somewhere around 22nd I believe). He recieved a signing bonus of around $1.3 mil. I realize he isn't a pitcher, but I'm not sure ZVR would get more than a million unless he does really well. He has the talent to be that good, but you never know what will happen. Remember, Al Woods was a 5 star who when he graduated high school probably thought he would be cashing a milion dollar check.

Why are people worrying about "two years"? We've got him for the next three years if he decides to come to BR.

Mitchell wanted a million bonus out of high school. Nobody gave it to him so he came to school and earned it. If he had been offered that milli, well he'd be in the upper minors now.

Most large bonuses have an additional amount tacked on, in addition to the strait bonus, for the player to go to college if things don't pan out.

His neighbor said he turned down 950K. He signed for 1.25 mil. So no, he's not a liar.
