First (regular) Seasons in SEC

Saban (LSU): 7-4
Kiffen (Tenn): 7-5
Heupel: 7-5
Smart: 7-5
Leach: 3-7
Jimbo: 8-4
Saban (Bama): 6-6
Kiffen (Miss): 4-5

Previous two seasons of the school as well for comparison purposes

Saban (LSU):7-15 (4-7, 3-8)
Kiffen (Tenn): 15-9 (10-2, 5-7)
Heupel: 11-11 (8-4, 3-7)
Smart: 20-4 (10-2, 10-2)
Leach: 14-10 (8-4, 6-6)
Jimbo: 15-9 (8-4, 7-5)
Saban (Bama): 15-8 (9-2, 6-6)
Kiffen (Miss): 9-15 (5-7, 4-8) Ole Miss was facing sanction under previous coach

Looking at this, I am trying to figure the most apt comparison and it would either be Heupel or Leach in terms of record. But comparisons are difficult. A lot of variabe go into the mix when changing coach. Miss State under leach had to build the program with players to match Leach's system and Tennessee was not a marque name anymore when Heupel took over. Both of those create a notable difference from LSU.

LSU looks like a team coming off of sanction because of the mass exodus of players and the weak roster depth when Kelly got here. In that respect it probably looked more like Ole Miss.

And the record alone does not indicate how the team was playing. A 5-7 team with 4 or single digit losses to very good teams is not the same as a 5-7 team that has wins against weak teams and gets blown out by mediocre or better teams.

I guess perhaps we should give a coach one or, heavan forbid, two seasons to see what develops

Excellent additions. You’re correct. Heaven forbid, maybe a whole two seasons

I don't care about his record. I care about the actual games and today we were extremely poorly coached and some real-time decisions by the coaches fricked us sideways today

Winning the coin toss and electing to receive. Your Defense is your supposed strength. -- This is dumb without the turnover so no Hindsight 20/20 shite here.

Minimal snaps for Perkins due to Def gameplan. -- He's your difference maker on D. Greg Penn is still trying to find Hooker up the middle.

Forgoing the easy Fg attempt and not converting on 4th and 4. JD5 has the ball snapped an instant too early allowing the RT to step back and trip Boutte, who falls, then gets up, catches the pass and comes up 1/2 a yard short on a marginal spot. -- It's a 10-3 game with a make. Tenn drives and goes up 13-0.

4th and 1 run stuff. -- 3rd and 1 was a shite play design which did not take advantage of JD5's skillset. Tenn scores on the bomb the next play to go up 20-0.

4 and 10 -- WTF? give them the ball at midfield so they get back the points they missed before half. And they get the 2nd half kick which they drive for a TD. 23-7 / 30-7

Nail in the coffin.

I'm not saying we win, but if the staff coached as they should have in the 1st half, you come out of halftime receiving the kick, down no more than 10 pts. Something like a 20-10, 17-10, or 20-14 game. At that point, you have a chance because we, to this point, thrive in the 2nd half.

Just an abomination of a game from all facets, top to bottom. we still probably lose, but we don't lose 40-13 and give up the yards and plays that we did and sit around on Sunday morning with your dick in your hand.

I can agree. Key was we took too many risks with a team not prepared for if it should go wrong. We should have never tried to snap on those 4th downs, and just punted

We have a hell of a lot more talent than a lot of those coaches in their first year. No excuses

i love people making definite assumptions based on year one of a rebuild. I haven't laughed at the rant like i have the last day or so. LSU fans are really stupid
