Last i checked spt is a part of football. That includes fgs and pr/kr. And onsides kicks. Ur fg kicker is not the only one to miss. Every year more than one kicker misses in death valley. Its not luck when it happens over and over again. It comes down to ur players folding under pressure. Guesd what if you dont make the tackle on st any team can score.

Last year we were dysfunctional on the offensive side. LSU's offense has been very efficient this year on 1st and 3rd downs, and this gives us more plays to bust that arse. You guys played tough last year in Tiger Stadium, but this team is hungry to be great and loaded with players who have something to prove..last year we were hoping to be great.

They were undersized last year and similar threads were posted pointing this out. They played pretty well on defense. I think we will have a better game offensively this year but they are no slouches for being a smaller team.

Our defense outplayed yours

eers offense = 177 yards
tigers offense = 230 yards

and both had 2 forced turnovers

how exactly did your defense outplay ours when the tigers were 27 yards away from matching your total offensive output in rushing yards alone?

3-3-5 defense

Obviously, run defense can be seen as a weakness in this defense. With only 3 down linemen, gaps seem to be larger than your typical 4-3 defense. If your linemen lose ground and get pushed back, huge gaps open up as the other players trying to fly to the ball now have obstacles in their way in the form of 300 pound men.

I agree. They certainly didn't fall apart like some OOC opponents do in Tiger Stadium (I'm talkin' to you Virginia Tech). They played hard and stuffed the middle pretty well and made JJ make quick decisions (which was never his strong suit).

Unfortunately for WVU - It's a new year with a new QB. I agree that the first half may stay close while Lee figures out a few things about the scheme. The play-calling will likely be pretty vanilla (even a few seeming head-scratchers to probe tendencies) in the first half. LSU will gain more success as the game goes on and win this one going away.

I will say - The one and only size advantage WVU will hold over LSU on defense is the home crowd. Lee shows the composure he exhibited playing in The Swamp last year and it could get ugly for the Mountaineers.

ETA:

Oh - and Bruce Irvin is REALLY good. He was apparently a good friend a teammate with former Tiger and now Redskin Perry Riley (until BI got derailed by off-the-field stuff for a while). I wish Faulk was going to be playing at 100% - Bruce may actually notch a sack and a pressure or 2 (Aagain - if it doesn't happen by halftime... It won't happen).
