Have WR's overtaken CB's as the best athletes in football?

I believe they have.

With the help of offensive friendly rules, sure.

Nah. Athletic DEs are the biggest freaks.

I think the best athletes in football can excel at any skill position.

Tough to say.
Defensive ends and linebackers have gotten pretty freaky athletic. Corner is by far the toughest position to play though.

But DE’s and LB’s have been freakishly athletic for over a decade now. This is not anything new.

Well, I think the Saints CB today proved that they all can't excel at the WR position.

Do you even Randy Moss bro

No. Playing CB is the hardest position to play outside of QB. WR’s know where they are going before the play. CB’s have to react to that and for the most part they are still in the same positions as the WR’s in man to man coverage.
Offensive schemes evolving and the rules being geared to help the offense make it seem like DB’s in general have gotten bad over the years.
