they could learn a thing or two from the Duke basketball student section this winter. They are as imposing and creative as it gets without resorting juvenile taunts any middle schooler could create. Of course, it probably has something to do with them being smart.

Can't completely argue with that, those kids are very smart and the standards are much higher for that SS then any of LSU's. But bball and football can't be counted in the same as far as student sections. Those Duke kids are so close they could whisper and the other team would be distracted

This saturday the SS did the oh-wee-oh chant (profane version) without the band
I noticed that. It was very weak!

I don't know where the hell that came from. Started like 5 years ago at the first home game of the season as if we'd been doing it for years.

suck that tiger D*** is funny and really what everyone in the stadium is thinking towards the other team (whether the way some think is PC or not it's the same principle deep down) It's Death Valley and it's one of the craziest student sections there is, let them play, for a lack of better words

If you think that chant is funny, you have a horrible sense of humor. It's an embarrassment to the university to have that heard on a national broadcast. I am no prude and I don't want to hear it. It may have been funny the first time it was said, but certainly not the 100th.

Yeah, let the band play neck again, and as soon as they start the profanity, bring in all the marshalls and sheriffs and show the students the exit. LSU would only have to do this one time and the students would get the message.

LOUD AND CLEAR.

Wow. I missed that the first time.

Again, there are people that take their kids to these games. Are you going to try to tell parents not to bring their kids to the games?

Like I said before, there are just certain lines you don't cross and that chant is one of them.

Current SS is lame and dumb and unoriginal. Back in my day, the only cuss words that flew in unison was the Geaux Tiger, Kick their arse! cheer. Now they feel the need to curse for every cheer. :beatdeadhorse:

Glass pints and drinks being thrown everywhere???

Just bring in the cops and eject a large number of students. I'm all for it now.

I used to be a champion of the student section and thought they should get as many tickets as they could, even at the expense of season ticket holders but not anymore.

The students are selfish and don't get it. You or the next guy may not like Neck but it's been apparent to me that the entire north end zone and more dance to that song and that's pretty impressive.

There ought to be a profanity clause on the back of the ticket and each student should sign something at registration making them aware of the repercussions of profanity in the stadium. Then LSU could just start EJECTING the offenders. All it would take is ONE TIME. Sorry bud, I don't like you language, here's the exit.

Seriously, do y'all students kiss your mothers with those mouths? Would your mother and grandmother be proud of you or embarrassed? I think the latter.

First off, yall think that not playing one song is going to make the SS not cuss. That's definitely not going to happen. And then, yall think that it's teaching people's kids the wrong stuff, they're going to cuss once or twice in their life so that doesn't really matter that they hear it. And if you sit in one of the upper decks you can't really understand what they are saying the whole time anyway.

It's not the upper decks that LSU is worried about hearing this chant. I heard it on TV and on the replay. LSU doesn't want that heard on national TV and neither do I and many of the other fans.

I'm proud that LSU is becoming a prominent football team again and proud that we're always on TV, even if it means day games.

I'm not very proud of the impression that "suck that tiger dick, bitch" being chanted leaves on TV spectators, recruit's families, etc.

I agree that this chant is crossing the line and not by a little bit. It's wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy over the line.

And by the way, it DOES matter if kids hear it.

Maybe one day when you grow up and have kids of your own, you won't want your 5 year old asking what does suck a dick mean.

and yes, I do mean, when you GROW UP.

Maybe those sitting in the upper decks cannot hear it, but a national TV audience can. Is that not a little embarrassing to you??

I don't believe any grownup should be offended by the chants that include "go to hell" or "kick their arse".

Having said that, I believe any grownup SHOULD BE offended by the chant they've been using during the playing of "Neck". If you say you can't see the difference, you are either lying or have learning disabilities.

And before anyone say it- yes, times have changed.

But stupid behavior is still stupid.

I'm sorry- but if someone gets their arse kicked in an opposing stadium for chanting that- they would have brought it on themselves....

It's not about YOU. I don't like some of the songs the band plays but I don't complain on a message forum about it.

It's not about ME either. It's about what the band wants to play and enjoys playing.

I wasn't looking for an actual link! Typically when someone says "link" to something, it indicates that the poster has said something that needs some sort of proof. In other words, I think that his assertion that "suck that tiger dick" is funny is idiotic.

Thanks for the link anyway!
