Have we all overlooked the obvious with the committee?

I truly believe now, LSU's only chance at jumping OSU, is to have their best defensive game of the year. Yes, they need to have a very convincing win. But, I think a game reminiscent of what Bama did to us in 2012 will have the biggest impact on the committee.
By no means am I saying this will happen. What I'm saying is the defense will be the only factor to make the committee sing a different tune come Sunday.

As an Ohio State fan, I am not very confident Ohio State holds onto #1 if LSU goes into Atlanta and completely dominated Georgia. No matter what Ohio State does to Wisconsin, which I do believe will be a closer game than the first time around.

Can't be too much worse. You guys destroyed them. :)

Here's something you have to come to terms with:
Ohio State is a blue blood
Ohio State in the championship will bring in viewers from the Northeast and Midwest.
From a network standpoint, LSU and Clemson are interchangeable.
So LSU and Clemson will be paired in the semifinal no matter how convincingly LSU wins.
Here's something else: It won't matter. LSU is beating everybody this year.

They’ve made it clear they want Ohio state at #1. My concern is if LSU loses a close game we don’t get in

I've been through so many stats concerning both offenses. Neither will disappoint Saturday. But, LSU's Defense has to be special Saturday for a committee change of mindset.

One Northerner's opinion - LSU and Clemson ain't interchangeable. LSU has 10x the fanbase and viewership that Clemson does. Very small passionate fanbase.

You haven't been paying attention.
And for the record, while I think LSU will beat Ohio State, I have no problem with anyone who wants to rank OSU #1. My only beef is when the Committee gets criticized for being honest and decides to rig their ranking to make their opinion look more legit.

I think you've nailed it.

If LSU wins big, the narrative is that they beat them because UGA was a team that wasn’t at full strength because of injuries and penalties.
The narrative for a close win will be that LSU barely beat a decimated team.
Any type of loss and we’ll hear how LSU couldn’t even beat a depleted team.

Not me, think its 52-0 type of game for yall and you keep #1 unfortunately. Think its fricked up that yall are 1, but at this point if yall do something like that, you arent losing it

Us football fans are so funny. We are on ElevenWarriors saying the same thing right now about Ohio State. All fans think everyone is against them. Why sports are the best.

I'm talking about the casual southern fan. LSU v. Clemson in the NC game will not get as large of an audience as LSU v. Ohio State or Clemson v. Ohio State.
So the best way to get the bigger audience is to rig it to where the odds are Ohio State plays EITHER Clemson or LSU.

This is your third thread, in two days, on this topic.
- Thread 1: LSU will jump to #1.
- Thread 2: LSU will jump to #1.
- Thread 3: Don't think LSU will jump to #1.
By Friday will you be telling us Clemson will be #1?

For the record, I think Ohio State vs. LSU would be the most watched NC in recent memory, maybe ever.

All this fricking time, and no one has ever had this username?

I agree 100%...even though Ohio St has no better history than lsu. The only way lsu is #1 is if Wisconsin wins. The committee has made up their mind, as indicated by bumping up all the big 10 teams but Minn...just to prop up Ohio's resume.

On that we agree!
And I hope it happens.

I think they want LSU vs OSU in the championship game for the draw of the story. Heisman winning quarterback to face his old team. Revenge or retribution how ever they spin it. Online clicks and viewership is all they want.
