Agreed. I feel for the kid with the performance he had. Left everything out there and gave LSU more than they could ever ask for from him, and then some.

And Peterson yesterday. These two gave us a shot.

Hindsight sucks but I wish he had been called on in game 1.

Best game of his career by a mile. If it weren’t for him we probably get smoked anyway. It’s hard as hell to hit his 2 seam the way his moves oh and at 95 mph.
Idc what that gun was saying that ball was flying out of his hand tonight with superb movement. That’s why they couldn’t locate the ball for anything. Those guys are great hitters and they couldn’t spot his fastball for shite.
Devin just had the stuff tonight and boy if that young man could learn how to locate that slider for strikes/balls consistently, he could be as good as he wants to be. Not to mention if he learns how to throw a good change up. He would be nearly unstoppable.
His 2 seam reminds me a lot of Nola. No I’m not comparing the two, just their 2 seam FB. Nola was and is much more polished but it Devin could learn to locate that slider and then add a change up to his pitches, he would be scary good. That movement is what separates good from greatness. He’s gotten better in a year.

Agreed...he certainly exceeded my expectations. Left everything he had out on the field, too.
