but I think last year was a sign of things to come....Les just isnt a good coach, and dont say he is a good coach because he won a NC, so did Coker. I hope im wrong but i see a few more rough years before he is out and we can try to rebuild.
But you "thinking" and "saying" neither makes it true, nor convinces anybody else. What evidence do you point to to prove he's "just [not] a good coach"?

You know i am really getting sick and tired of these threads, IMPO i think last year was Les miles best coaching Job. Yes he made a bad desision in doing the split def coordinators, but in any coach could have done better with jarret lee and andre hatch, i would like to see them try. Jarret lee just started to play football his jr year in high school, and Andrew hatch was at harvard and let face it wasn't talented enough to play at LSU. With that said We still won 8 games and could have easily won 3 out of the five games we lost with the exception of ole miss & Florida were we were just out played. Most of our Loses came because of young QB play. In JJ would have been ready miles would have played him. Do any of you Rantards really think that if Ryan Perriloux wasn't a dumbass and would have stayed we would have lost five games. Les gave that boy every chance. Take Tim Tebow off of florida and put a freshman in his play see if florida runs the table.Enough with this Les miles isn't a good coach Crap. He only brings in top 5 classes just about every year.

Well said Mr LSU2001
Most of these geeks do good just calculating the won/loss column; virtually everything else flies over their empty little heads.

I'm certainly no CenlaTiger apologist, because a post like that does no good.
But if you are going to sit here and tell me 2008 was Les Miles BEST coaching job and that no coach could have done better than him in 2008????!!!
Then I'd have to give you about as much credibility as CenlaTiger.
We virtually won zero tough games last year and were spared an embarrasment by an inexperienced Troy offensive coordinator. With the talent we had almost any coach could have done atleast "as good" as Les did. I'm not calling him a bad coach for the record, but there is No excuse for 2008 to ever occur again. And you are wrong many people made it public that he never gave JJ a chance to earn the spot. Half way through the season he was still practicing 5 plays from the playbook. He's NOT a dumb kid. His offense in High School alone proves that he could handle more. Les chose not to give him a shot. He went in with AH and JL and that was his error. He should own up to it and so should you.
And for the record Les gets paid ungodly money and it's his job to win games, he didn't do that last year. He should take an immense amount of heat for 2008 because it was pathetic. But starting a post like this a week before opening game is asinine. Les can easily play for a National Championship this year.

After a national championship, it is not uncommon for a team to have a down season.
Urban Meyer lost four games and that was with Tim Tebow a past Heisman Trophy winner.

Throwing a true freshman to the wolves is not my idea of good coaching. Miles protected J.J. by preparing him to be able to start by the end of the season.
Miles is a big enough man to take the heat in order to do the right thing--no matter what kind of heat our clueless fans what to put on him.

This year will tell us alot about Miles. If he loses 4 or more, you may be right. If he doesnt, you may be wrong. It could still go either way.
Miles is my favorite LSU coach of all time but I am not sold on him being all that yet. As I said, this year will tell us alot.

obviously you have your opinion but i just can't understand what it is he hasn't proved to alot of fans, after katrina he kept the team focused in trying times and finished 10 and 2,and since has been competitive with the exception of last season,i think we will be fine and continue to excel as one of the teams to beat in the sec.

The two things that are holding LSU from the SEC Championship this year are Tebow and a SOPH QB.
Next year baby!
