re: Hate to say it, but everything about this Box screams "cheap as hell"

Shouldn't have to suffer through a substandard stadium forever.
In my numerous trips to the Box, I have never once "suffered" from anything besides being too hot in May and June.
I go watch a game, maybe grab some water and some snacks, then leave when the game is over after having had a generally nice time.
This "suffering" and "sub-standard stadium" crap just boggles my mind.

I wonder what it will be like sitting under there in May?
shade and fans blowing on you is better than standing in the sun.

I might like the idea of the short pitchers lane and the tall pitchers lane
It is taller than it looks in the pics.

Everything screams that SOME LSU FANS are dumb as F.

I came up with my username while perusing a different tiger sports message board and decided to post something so I had to come up with a username and since I was sitting there after coming home from the Nick Saban LSU Football national championship game and didn’t want to go to sleep because I just wanted to sit there and wallow in the glow of LSU winning a national championship.

The best program in the country deserves the best stadium.
So every time someone builds a new stadium we have to tear ours down and build a new one?

Logistically that’s not feasible let alone cost wise

I just want a berm with maybe some spots for grilling. The bleacher seats don’t really bother me.

Our team looks great and this is what comes to mind? I'm just enjoying the games.

Middle to lower based on what exactly? That standard of message board posters that bitch about everything?
This stadium is 15 years old there is nothing structurally wrong with it all the bitching about “mid/lower tier” are purely aesthetic. It’s just not economical feasible to build a new on based on that

nothing structurally wrong

I think you should write a check to LSU and make it happen.
Let's geaux, put your money where your mouth is big boy!

Problem is, when you go cheap, things like this happen....

Did I say you did? Seems awfully defensive

The OP is calling for a new stadium that can’t be justified for a stadium this new barring structural issues.

Personally I’d rather the resources go to improving the practice facilities or whatever Johnson wants and NIL than whatever extra amenities you want and that you will be bitching aren’t good enough again in a couple of years

Hell, Fenway and Wrigley look cheap as hell and are, compared to the more modern MLB stadiums. However, ask MLB players how they feel about playing in those parks and they will tell you it is an honor. Sometimes bright and flashy BS doesn't make the stadium, fans and history do.

20 years ago Skip was offered a stadium next to Tiger Stadium surrounded by condos and would look like Fenway Park. A large garage was going to be built to use for baseball and football games. He said nope and stuck with the lincoln log crap that is used now. Most people in Louisiana have never been to a great venue so they don't know what can be or how much better it can be. Alex box is no where near nice, it's just adequate. I don't care if you don't agree- go see other stadia and experience good design.
