LOL. Most years of LSU Football from 1974 to 1999 were worse than this year.
With all the events/things listed in the OP, we still are having a good recruiting year. Watch and see, this class be top 10 when all is settled. And that is remarkable due to it being a coaching change year. And we have the beginnings of an extremely strong coaching staff. Yes, we need an OC and we'll have one soon.
We are gonna be just fine.

Miless got him or he wouldn't be here , there is not enough of money to bring top coaches to this negatiger dumpster fire we call LSU ! Just be grateful we have orgerone and and company !

2008 had more promise, though, as we were coming off a Natty. I remember watching LSU vs Auburn, a battle of two Top 10 teams that wouldn't finish in the Top 25, and being excited about that win. Now you look back and have to laugh and Jarrett Lee's worst pick six in the history of college football.
2014 also had a lot of promise. We were #8 and then we got slaughtered by Mississippi State for the first time since 1999. LSU scored two TDs in mop-up time, but you knew the 34-29 didn't tell the full story. Dak ate our lunch and fondled our girlfriends. Then we got beat down by Auburn, 41-7. Also got shutout by Arky, 17-0. Yeah, 2014 was a lot worse than 2016.
