Has there ever been a season where we lost 2 games on the very last play like we did this year with Auburn and Florida?
And the fourth to last play against Wisky!

Worse Year
This is not bad at all if you look at the big picture. 2012-2016 were basically wasted seasons because we had Miles and he doubled down on his offensive meddling. Sure an 8-5 type season is disappointing, but I would rather have that and fix the problem rather than win 10 games and be mediocre forever.
2016 is a good year because we finally got rid of Miles and are showing some willingness to do what it takes to right our ship. If we get Jimbo or Herman and keep Aranda, we are looking at being back and competing for championships very soon. I am encouraged that we are willing to pay $7M for a HC. If you want to win championships, you have to be willing to do whatever it takes.
If we have to settle for a "B list" coach (anybody other than Jimbo or Herman), then it will probably still be a good thing as we will improve. LSU is a top 10 program, we just need a competent HC and OC to go along with our already great recruiting and defense.
The doomsday scenarios that some have posted on here seem pretty far fetched. Even if the sky does fall, I still say it's good because at least we had the balls to make a move and not accept mediocrity. I predict that we get Jimbo and keep Aranda, and that the sky does not fall on us.
