Showing my age - been an LSU/college fan for 50+ years.
3 vs 4 opener! Doesn't get any better. Considering other match ups, winner comes out #1. Let's go JL!

Unfortunately I doubt the winner jumps Bama or Oklahoma. We can pull for Penn St. & FSU to pull off the upsets in week 2. It's actually week 3 for Okie/FSU since the Sooners plugged in a bye during week 2.

Tigers were unranked in 1981 and opened the season with Alabama and Notre Dame, both preseason top four. I recall a lot of anticipation for that season and those games, though LSU fizzled (especially in the finale) and ND did too.

For LSU, I would agree, Im trying to think, I know that when Hodson was a redshirt freshman, the Aggies came to Tigertown, I believed ranked no. 1 in at least one poll. However, I dont think we were ranked in the top 10 if anyone else knows please state, I believe that was in 1986 or 1987. But for LSU, this is the biggest opener that I can remember between 2 top 5 teams.

Doc, the '81 Bama game was at Tiger Stadium and on ABC. Prime time.
