Osik pitching in that game wasn't a gimmick. He was actually a reliever who logged some innings.

When Adrian Antonini was a catcher I remember it seeming like he was throwing the ball back to the pitcher faster than it was pitched.
The next season he was moved to pitcher.

Yep. I don't recall anyone else doing it anywhere. Skip wanted to showcase his athletic ability.

Just looked it up. He played 1st base and pitched in ‘93.
