re: Has J. Lee gotten a fair opportunity to become the Starting QB ...

Lee is worse than JJ. He is afraid of the rush and has no speed to avoid it. Both JL and JJ need an All-SEC Oline which we don't have. JJ can avoid the rush, that is the difference.

I would say his sack numbers would be counter to this point...IMO the difference is JJ is not mentally affected after getting hit, whereas Lee gets rattled and starts making bad decisions. With a great o-line the offense would probably perform better with Lee.

Yes. He has made some big time throws but the offense in general seems to be more effective when JJ has been in the last couple of games. I don't mind the two QB system as JJ seems to play better within it and Lee, if he does need to make a big play with JJ injured, can do it.

this year...?
I mean, the guy won two games and helped in others...yet I dont see him ever getting a fair shake....we would def have 3 loses if it werent for him....yet he prob will never get the chance to become the full-time starter....either because of JJ or a transfer....
I dont think JL can avoid getting hurt because he just stand there

I sorta remember a wrist injury in that game.

Easy answer is no...
Lee has been on the field during 2 of most important drives this season (end of Tennessee/Florida) but he has not been given chance to start and finish a game like Jefferson has.
However LSU is 9-1 so can't argue with results no matter how putrid each QB has been.

The TD drive in the 4th quarter of the Alabama game was more important than either of these.
Both QBs have flaws to their game, but the problem is the system and not the players. It is hard to accurately judge either QB or any other offensive player under this system. But we have to acknowledge that we are stuck with this system for the remainder of the year and, therefore, need to determine which QB best fits the situation at hand.

More than enough. If swear if I see him throw off his back foot one more time Im going to throw myself (better yet J Lee) into Mikes cage. He negates his good throws with that wheels off, off balance, back foot crap.

1 pass doesn't really matter, for Tennessee and Florida he was under center the entire drive/quarter. (although they removed him once goal line situation vs Tennessee)
The way Jefferson was playing that game, I am not so sure given same opportunity LSU would have been in that situation where a 14 yard pass would have been necessary.

i agree, i think many are forgetting that JJ just doesnt have it because the D and SP Teams have bailed us out so much, when they dont, lee is called upon to save the day because he can throw...i just dont think its fair to him...sure, JJ can sometimes run the zone read and option effectively (very rarely) I still believe that we would be better if Jlee was given the game, to throw the ball and to hand off to our many RB's...I still think were taking away carries from our really good RB's by letting JJ run...
JJ still gets sacked way to many times....(although they have gone down) I still dont believe he will ever change....I still think Jlee will get better with reps and has waaaaay more upside...
I still dont know if les will play mett (if we get him) over SR's Qb's
and again...Murrey had Mett beaten out before he got into trouble...sure he is big and he is a gunslinger but Murrey had the job already, why do you think he let mett go so easily when he could have suspended him.???

Because Alabama will be our best win of the year. Tennessee is awful and Florida is mediocre at best.
When people discuss whether LSU should go to a BCS bowl, Alabama will be the win they talk about, not Tennessee or Florida.

No. He has been lied to by Miles. He has not been given the chance to compete, only to play when there is no other option or in a herky jerky in-and-out manner. He never gets a sustained number of series, never gets enough dedicated first team reps.

Because Alabama will be our best win of the year.

And without the Alabama drive, LSU is 8-2. When can go in circles all day.

It took the lead against a team much better than the two you listed.
Again, it was our signature win. I'm not downplaying the significance of the drives against Tennessee and Florida, but neither will be looked back upon as being LSU's defining drive of the season. Alabama will.

what do you think would have happend, if we would have had to punt...ever hear of a thing called momentum....personally, I love our D, but I think they would have scored had they gotten the ball back...our D was starting to wear down....as usual with our offense...

Here let me show you...
1st and 10 at LSU 23 Michael Ford rush for a loss of 3 yards to the LSU 20. 21 24
2nd and 13 at LSU 20 Stevan Ridley rush for no gain to the LSU 20.
3rd and 13 at LSU 20 Timeout ALABAMA, clock 2:49.
3rd and 13 at LSU 20 Jarrett Lee pass complete to Rueben Randle for 47 yards to the Alab 48, LSU penalty 15 yard Personal Foul accepted for a 1ST down.
1st and 10 at ALA 48 Stevan Ridley rush for no gain to the Alab 48.
2nd and 10 at ALA 48 Timeout ALABAMA, clock 02:02.
2nd and 10 at ALA 48 Stevan Ridley rush for 3 yards to the Alab 45.
3rd and 7 at ALA 45 Stevan Ridley rush for 4 yards to the Alab 41.
4th and 3 at ALA 41 LSU penalty 5 yard Delay of Game accepted.
4th and 8 at ALA 46 Josh Jasper punt for 32 yards, fair catch by Marquis Maze at the Alab 14.
What it did was waste 3 minutes and 5 seconds giving Alabama the ball back with 18 seconds left on the clock. Had Lee miss and LSU punted Alabama would have gotten the ball back with about 2 minutes to go and having to drive 60+ yards for a touchdown to win or field goal to tie.

It comes down to this. We only see a very small sample of what each qb is doing. How they prepare and understand the gameplan and then how they execute it. The coaches are seeing them daily and evaluating them all the time. If Lee was better, he would be playing more but he is not. Also, our o-line (is improved) isn't the best in the world so we need a qb that can move around some and he can't.
