The first corner off the board didn't get selected until pick number 30. That was of course the best defensive back in America last year (according to the voters.) So I figure he will be the next corner off the board and probably be a top 5 pick in round 2 tonight. I know he was considered a top 10-15 talent, but with teams so clearly wanting to beef up their lines of scrimmage, it wouldn't seem in this draft he was destined to go anywhere near that high anyway... So with that said, what am I missing?
In b4 get quit on his team

U are of course correct but the rantard experts follow the drama queens of espn for the narrative. My opinion he should have stayed another year to bulk up some. But he needs to get paid and he will.

He'll be fine. Whether he went #30 or 33 to 40 is really arbitrary. He might make a bit less, but he still will be a lot richer.

Not really, no. As you say, only 1 corner has gone, and the word all month has been that teams are all over the place on corners this year. No two teams boards look alike at that position.

He'll find a spot very soon tonight, I'm sure.

He will make more money in the next four years than all of the "experts" on this board will make in their lifetimes. But the "experts" will emphatically and dramatically tell you how far he has fallen and how horrible this all is for Greedy, his family and life.

I don’t get the outrage. He will be an early second rounder and still get paid millions to play in the NFL. I don’t really feel bad for him. He still would’ve left if he’d gotten a 2nd round grade anyway.

I will be shocked if he's not in the first 10 picks today, but I know nothing

While this may be mostly true, it doesn't excuse the fact that he quit on his team.

Obviously, DW had far more to lose and decided that his character and the team were more important.

Whether you like it or not, his decision not to play tarnishes his time here at LSU. It probably doesn't matter much to Greedy (and a percentage of fans), but it does matter to most... Including me.

I watched his interview at his pro day and came away very unimpressed. He spent the entire time mumbling about how he was the best db in the draft and the tape showed it.

I do think he is the best db prospect in this draft but that interview was very cringeworthy

These are not mutually exclusive. He can make more money than everybody on this board AND it can be true that he made a poor decision to leave early AND that his draft stock has fallen much further than he (or anybody) expected.

Don't let anybody tell you he hasn't fallen. Ask yourself this question: If Greedy Williams would have been told in December that he would not be taken until the 2nd round would he have entered the draft? The answer, almost assuredly, is No.

He will most likely be drafted tonight. Pretty damn good, still. Not sure if he will be the next CB picked, but should be early tonight. I think the DB from Washington is right their with Greedy on who will be the next CB

Most?!?! Really?!?!

Not even close.

You truly have an overblown opinion of your insignificant position.

Yeah, what you just posted is total bullshite.

.@Greedy Williams arrives with daughter Khloe to the #NFLDraft in Nashville.

This is the 2018 MINIMUM pay for the NFL:

The four-year minimum base salaries for players in this year's draft are as follows:
$480,000 (Year 1),
$555,000 (Year 2),
$630,000 (Year 3)
$705,000 (Year 4).

If eventually signed to a contract, each rookie drafted will get a four-year deal, whereas undrafted rookies are only eligible for three-year contracts.

2017:
the second round, where the average contract was worth about $5.1 million over four years ($1.3 million per year), according to Spotrac.com, but with only half of that guaranteed.

Only one CB taken in first round. That is very unusual especially with all of the pass-happy offenses these days. The team that needed a CB picked the Thorpe winner. He should go early tonight. If not, then he “fell”
