Coleman needs to learn how to trash talk if he wants to be in Landry's league.

have zero clue how anyone could watch LSU and think that Landry was GREAT in coverage

Landry's coverage skills were consistently rated as being "strong" to "excellent" depending on who you talked to. So it wasn't just people watching LSU who thought he was good in coverage, it was the guys who get paid to watch players.

HC is > LL. Yes, I said that. Laron never had great cover instincts AND great tackling. They both bring the hat big time, but Harry has the best instincts I have seen roving the LSU Defensive secondary since Cedric Donaldson and Tommy Casanova.

LL never consistently displayed ALL the special skills that HC continuously is demonstrating while on the field. Granted, he has to get more reps to demonstrate he can sustain this over the long haul, but I see absolutely no reason why he will not do so.

HC may be the best DB in this generation for the Tigers - He is THAT GOOD.

It is mind blowing how a safety can be the 6th pick in the NFL draft without cover and tackling skills. Even more amazing that he is starting and playing extremely well in the NFL.

Those dumb NFL people.

NFL draft without cover

LL had great tackling skills, and a helluva nose for the ball on running plays, and also had one helluva blitz. I said the word "great". LL never had great cover skills while at LSU. He got burnt on pass plays too many times to call what he displayed "great". you may be able to stretch his body of work to indicate "very good" cover skills, but not "great". Comprehend that distinction?

And we are talking about college performance, so whether he has gotten better or not in the Pros has nothing to do with this conversation. Comprehend that?

LL got drafted for having sufficient-to-good pass coverage ability, combined with awesome tackling and hitting ability, and speed and instincts in run coverage. He did not dsiplay "great" pass coverage instincts and skills while at LSU.

Harry Coleman, in my opinion, and in limited but consistent fashion, has shown more in cover instincts/skills than LL. He is also well on his way to displaying strong tackling skills, run coverage ability, and bringing one helluva hat in the ballpark of LL.

On balance, that is why I think HC is on pathway to be a better overall package than LL. Disagree if you want, but that is my opinion based on the totality of displayed abilities at this point.
