I, for one, am a little frustrated that we never throw to our golf carts.

firstly, the prior poster wasn't questioning his work ethic, he was just referring to Harris recent "best arm" comments. In other words, don't talk, just play.

Secondly, were you not paying attention during Harris' freshman year? It was constantly alleged that Harris didn't work as hard as he should, and apparently didn't have command of the playbook. I think Harris himself even acknowledged this.

As an ex-coach speaking, he's trying to talk up his own game...that's a sign of weakness...not real confidence...real confidence comes from within, not from the outside...but I do wish him all the best...but political correctness is not part of my game...just telling it as I see it!

You're the world's greatest detective

Link it. And he's always been self critical, which is a big part of having a great work ethic. I'd fully expect a junior to be more mature than a true freshman, that is called growing upm

Well it seems like you want him to be PC.

And this keeps getting lost with that quote for some reason

I take full responsibility for last year,” he said. “I was terrible. I was straight-out bad

You could be right, but it's different times lately.

I almost want a cocky quarterback. Confident for sure.

Many today talk way more noise than Harris about their abilities.

Harris sounds like he's just being honest. At least he has accountability and admits he was awful last season. How many quarterbacks are willing to admit that?

Harris did not have much help from his wide receivers either, IMO.. and I expect them to step up tremendously.

Any ways, nothing wrong with stating your opinion. Could be right or he really could just be telling how he truly feels in his ability. I do agree with what you are saying (I think) Doesn't matter what is said until it's proven on the field. I hope to see tremendous improvement as well.

Humerous - your link was an article published 3 weeks before the first game in Harris' freshman year.

And I'm not just dreaming shite up - it was flying around his freshman year that Harris didn't have command of the playbook.

Now, to be honest, I thought at the time that the allegation was nonsense and that Harris probably had enough command of the playbook to be effective, especially with Jennings struggling.

My post was simply meant to refute your statement that no one had ever questioned his work ethic. I don't have a link, but am pretty sure Harris himself admitted as much. I could be wrong, but don't think so.

Here's what not being PC is...BH came from a high school coach and culture of know-it-all...he expected to be the immediate starter while not even knowing the play book...his H>S> coach tried to get him to transfer for his own ego reasons..."Great Expectations" is nice to dream about...but great performances are a totally different thing...now that's what I call not being PC!

Once again putting those great detective skills to work. Almost like I intentionally pulled praise from when he first started his career at lsu.

I do find that humorous

I wouldn't expect a true freshman to have complete command of a complicated playbook that has option routes included.

quote:

but am pretty sure Harris himself admitted as much.

I have zero doubt that Harris has grown as a person. I addressed that already and stated that he has always been self-critical, which is a sign of a great work ethic

You can't improve at your craft without recognizing what needs to be improved.

SO EDGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he's not his high school coach. Once again, i point to him saying that he was terrible last season and took full responsibility.

There is really a 9 page thread on the front page of the rant about Alabama's color commentator's opinion of LSU's starting QB?

What in the actual frick is going on around here?

Where was there an excuse in that statement?

Like Harris did when he took full responsibility for the failures of the team last season?

And no, that isn't what not being politically correct means

I once wrote a book named"Just Words!"...for the unintelligent, that means that saying I'm sorry doesn't cut the mustard...saying anything means nothing...It's actions on the field of 11x11 under fire in real time that counts...but so many fall into that category of unintelligent on here...so pitiful!

More random rambling

Still waiting on how him taking responsibility, even if "just words" falls under the definition of an excuse.

quote:

Your posts are a shining example. They are "just words" thrown together that lacks coherent logic.

This sums it up pretty well. You're a hypocrite and should take your own words to heart:

quote:

LSU is the best thing that Louisiana has going for it. But, much of the population is so negative that they seem to relish bad news and the opportunity to "run down" anything and "eat their own"...every chance they get...

To these so-called fans, you don't deserve LSU or this team.

There, I got it off my chest! Decent fans all accross America would die for one season like last year...now, LSU has another shot this year at a Two-peat...but for some, the QBs aren't perfect yet so they run them down like dogs. I say it again...you don't deserve this "damn strong team" or it's damn fine staff.
