re: Harris, Jennings even at QB as LSU practice opens

I like the way Harris escapes a collapsing pocket and gets 5 to 6 yds when there's nothing there, opens up the playbook for 2nd and 3rd downs. Jennings can't get away from a pass rush and doesn't secure the ball well enough in the open field.

If AJ starts, I'm hoping I can sell my tickets at a decent price.

It's about managing players, good coaches know how to manage players. If he gets up there and says Harris is the guy, the competition is over. Harris and Jennings both go into cruise control mode.
Because that has really worked out well for us in the past. Would hate for one quaterback to actually feel like this is his team and have confidence that one minor mistake won't cause him to lose the job. It's much better to have both QB's play scared than to have one play with confidence.

Here's where everyone freaks out even though Miles will never say one guy is playing better than the other and we all know he won't say either way and it's all just a media pony show but we like to melt so here we are melting about dumb shite things we assume
Harris could be playing like the second coming of Peyton Manning and Miles would still keep saying they are neck and neck up until the Thursday before the first game.

What will the reaction be when Harris trots out onto the field against mcneese?
Probably the loudest ovation since 2007 Florida when USC was announced it lost

Some are just too dumb Choc...Anyone that has tickets and wants to get rid of them just because a certain player may play is just unreal stupid and should be STRIPPED of their ticket allowance....... If I had a chance to get season tickets I would be at every game and stay till the end no matter record or weather or game results...
I will agree that this team [any year] needs TRUE fan support.... I may bash Miles and am critical of players[which I try not to do], But overall, ALL LSU fans have been blessed that they are not UK or Vandy or even Ole Miss Fans or MSU fans.... We play home games in a legendary stadium and 90% of the time have something positive to cheer for... I have been through the good and the bad.. But always faithful and became a fan way before 2000.... Too many fans out there.......... Now as for this year.... I have said its possible for this team to duplicate last years record... There are concerns in areas that need attention... Talent galore and I LOVE the coach "O" hire..... A lot on here say AJ sucks... Well that may be, However I think if the gameplan were more wide open he would look better... Miles and Cam need to quit playing it so close to the vest... Open things up a little Les, You may be surprised at what you see... This is NT the 1970's Big Ten anymore.........

This bleating about "I'd go to the game if I only could get tickets" needs to stop. There are a ton of season tickets for sale on the TD Ticket Exchange and other forums. Go getcha some.

Nonsense. Whoever is named starter knows that if he slacks off and sticks up the field, he'll get demoted. Naming a starter doesn't mean Miles is coronating a king that can't be deposed.
The positives of naming a starter now is that it allows the team to rally and unite behind their leader, which is very important in team sports.

I remember when LSU was going into 2005 and 2006 fall camp with jamarcus and flynn and they were "even" and "neck and neck".
Les stated in an interview a year or two later that there really wasn't a competition, he just wanted to make sure Russell was challenged to work as hard as he could.

If Jennings starts, Harris has no one to blame but himself for not rising up and taking the position.

I hope Miles keeps up his "Milespeak" on our qb situation. As others have said in this thread, our starting qb for McNeese should be announced as late as possible.

''I don't think Brandon made a mistake all day,'' Dural added. ''Brandon's maturity is better. He's grown. He has gone from thinking every throw has to be an 80-yard touchdown to settling for check-downs. Anthony didn't make mistakes, either. You would never have known that he was gone for two (nearly) months.''

I get what you are saying, and if it was the thursday before the first game I would probably agree. BUT IT IS THE 1ST DAY OF FALL CAMP! There is still plenty of time for competition to make both qbs better. Miles and Cameron will have a starter in mind by the end of camp and the qb and the team will know. The public won't know who it is, but that is the way that Miles rolls. I guess it will take another 10 seasons for you to figure that out.

Brandon Harris was QB1 the first day of camp.
That's a good sign!

Has nothing to do with a player. I dumped mine when Leslie signed his last contract extension and I realized we were stuck with him for the foreseeable future.
Now quit pissing and moaning about wishing for season tix and go buy some you cheap shite...there's plenty to be had.

You dumped your tickets after they gave an extension to the greatest coach in LSU history?
