Shades of Devin White.

White's senior year he rushed for 1,650 yards and 31 touchdowns in 12 games.

Except for 1 or 2 games, I saw from the sideline every high school game Devin played in. Yeah, he put up some gaudy stats. What's really remarkable is knowing HOW he put up those stats. During the entire time he was here, none of the teams he played on had a significant passing game so defenses really keyed on him. Plus, he got most of his yards between the tackles running basically a wing T offense. In addition, although our OL worked hard, it had some really weak spots. On the rare occasion he came out of the game, it was on offense. I remember a playoff game against Patterson. IIRC, he had >400 yds total offense (he was a pretty good punt and kickoff returner, as well).

Devin White Led his team at Running back also. Hmmmmmmm. Super talented players

He was all everything at rb and many colleges, including LSU had to promise to give him a shot at rb to get his signature

I spent about two years doing work for Marathon at a plant in Cotton Valley in the mid 90s, now XTO/Exxon owns it I think.

High school football borders on a religion up there.

Yep. In fact, Les Miles promised Devin would be LSU's only RB recruit that year. The only team that really recruited him for LB was A&M. John Chavis himself came to Springhill and handled Devin's recruitment.

It’s becoming quite obvious every game that Perkins is the next great Tiger LB. He’ll be All-American level and in the hunt for the Bednarik and the Nagurski in the next couple of years

There's no doubt Harold Perkins is the real deal.

He has tremendous linebacker skills and is an outstanding athlete--that makes for a tough combination for Tiger opponents.

I want to see Perkins, Saivion and BJ all on the field at the same time. Get used to it, because more top tier athletes are on the way.

Part of others teams pitches to him were that he would get a shot at RB. As we know with Devin how that works out when they actually hit campus

I watched Landon Collins play in high school. The guy would have games where he would rush for like 6 TD’s and have like two interceptions in one game. Elite prep players playing against your average just isn’t fair.

He was all over the field and made a huge play when it mattered. Looking forward to watching him over the next few years.
