Dale Brown is solely responsible for putting LSU on the college basketball map.

LSU has been fortunate to have two coaches who not only built up sports at LSU, but made those sports relevant throughout the SEC.
Before Dale, basketball in the SEC was Kentucky and everybody else.
Before Skip Bertman, baseball was pretty much Mississippi State and everybody else. I'm glad I got the see these guys build up the sports at LSU.

Happy Birthday Daddy Dale - have a great day !!!!!

The best attribute about Daddy Dale is He ALWAYS treats every person he meets exactly the same with kindness, empathy and sincerity, regardless of your lot in life. And he abhorred and called out people who abused their power and influence to the detriment of common folks.

The greatest program salesman I've ever known as well as a master of motivation. Happy Birthday, Coach Brown.

77-81 was a great time for Tiger basketball.

did you forget about 1986?

the Jose Vargas gold chain burger king incident?

Recruiting Shaq and Chris Jackson?

Fred's "decreasing screwdriver prices" the more CJ scored. i think it got down as low as 25 cents a screwdriver several times.

Ricky Blanton buzzer beater?

Don Redden RIP

the Geerter?

Dennis Tracey dont-give-a-frick guided missiles into the crowd going after loose balls

the great UNLV and Marymount shootouts?

Georgetown in the Superdome?

Vargas rescuing the suicidal guy who went into Mike's cage?

Happy birthday coach. He exemplifies the word class. His career was ruined by a lie and the truth. Pure class. Thanks for being who you are.

Coach talked to you like you been his friend for years. Very personal .

this, he is as personable of a man as I think I've ever met, went to his retirement celebration in the PMAC, he wasn't "greeting" per se but happened to be walking near the entrance when the old lady and I walked in, he made a bee line over to introduce himself, talked with us a long time, and showed us around(we got there early,) as the big shots began to show up we decided to slip away so the could visit, he almost wouldn't let us go, made sure to introduce himself to everyone , just a gracious, pleasant guy, now I did some basketball charters for LSU during a couple of NCAA tournaments, and let me say that when he's at work he has a, let's say, fiery side to him too

I just want you all to know that I put my pants on just like the rest of you, one leg at a time, except when I put my pants on, I win conference championships

Remember when the guy tried to rob Jose at the Church's on Highland- and Jose threw him through a window?

Coach Dale rounded up a few players (and some baseball bats) and went to the aid of his player. You didn't mess with Dale's guys.
