Gordy also just said on the show that after he watched the first few offensive series during the first scrimmage, it was very much apparent this isn't last year's offense (in terms of execution).

Expect growing pains.

And where was last years offense after having to deal with a pandemic, massive personnel losses, and a departed coordinator?

I mean, no shite it's not the same offense Gordy...LY's was fricking historic.

If you re-watch the Texas game last year we did not look near as crisp as we did later in the year. At the time we were blown away by how successful they seemed. Amazing how your perspective can change.

During the first scrimmage? I wouldn’t base my decision on an offense based off of a scrimmage a few weeks ago

This team has talent. It will take Brennan some time to settle into the position. We watched the most unstoppable offnese last year with guys who had been together for 2 years.

I think everyone knows the offense this year won't match what the unit did last year.

The way Gordy delivered that line though seemed to suggest that the offensive production may regress a bit more than many think.

Completely expect to see growing pains. It’s where they end the season that’ll tell us how good they are.

Well if there's any time to make judgments on a team, it's the first few series of the first scrimmage after an off season derailed by a global pandemic.

I think Brennan throws for 300 per game, but a slew of interceptions and fumbles on sacks.

I say 67% completion rate, 350 passing yards per game!

My fear is that there’s a reversal in the scheme to be less creative and innovative. Execution aside, we need to stay on the gas.

if you would have told me we would have a QB average 270 yards passing per game in 2014 I would have laughed in your face. Hell if you told me that in 2018 I would have laughed.

Joe Burrow was our Carson Palmer and Myles Brennan will be our Matt Lineart. He probably won’t win the Heisman this season but next year he should be the favorite. Wouldn’t be surprised if he were a finalists or semifinalists this year.

Prediction:

293 ypg, 67%, around 27 passing touchdowns. Woulobe surprised if he were halfway there after the first 3 games.

First scrimmage. Usually the d is ahead of the offense. Brennan can be good, maybe very good. Burrow was other worldly. No way it's going to look the same. The difference I think will be, Burrow was capable of making 3-4 reads per play. Not sure Brennan can do that. Most can't. That said, if he's around 65-66% we have enough talent to challenge for the division.

If this happens it’ll all be in coach O for letting it. My hope is our D is better so we don’t need as many points as we did at times last year.

Brennan is the real deal. Will there be growing pains? Yes. But we are still going to be an elite team this season.
