I’m not sure why people are getting upset with what you are saying. If the BYU player was suspended by the NCAA then one would think that Haulcy would be suspended too. If BYU suspended their own player on their own accord, then that should be a pretty simple answer and we have nothing to worry about.

Scone man just said LSU and the SEC found out about this today and Clemson did bring it to the ncaa
I was listening to him. I heard his reporting. He was speculating it had to be Clemson who leaked it to the Clemson media. He said there’s no way the reporter David Hood would just randomly stumble upon this by film review.
Again - this all came about and to the forefront when NCState announced their suspensions today.

What if ncaa incorrectly ruled? Doubtful but possible. If it was actually for fighting then why wouldn’t the book have been corrected when the BYU player was suspended? IMO if the official book says unsportsmanlike then we need to push back.

According to multiple reports, it appears both safeties should be good to go given their ejections were due to unsportsmanlike penalties and not fighting, but will be a critical storyline to monitor heading into Week 1.

That's because even though it is a very basic, logical, and obvious question to ask, they think doing so somehow means you are lobbying for an LSU player to be suspended.
I'm with you. It seems like this should be a pretty easy and straight-forward issue to address. Yet, in typical NCAA fashion, it appears no one knows WTF is going on.
If Haulcy was to be suspended for the 1st game of this season, or not, that information should have, quite literally, been known on 11.30.24. Why this has now become an apparent uncertain issue 9 months later is mind-blowing.

I think LSU knows and has known. it was playing this close to the vest to not give Clemson any advantage. LSU does not HAVE to disclose if a player is suspended or not to the public or to its opponent.

Cooley is good to go. Unclear if Haulcy will be available in the 1st half.
So he knows the same as everyone else. Good reporting.

I don't believe a word the media says on this especially moscona.

Perhaps. But that would kind of be out of character for BK. He's generally pretty candid. If it were Les we'd get some kind of nonsensical word salad that would create even more confusion.

all power 4 teams have to submit an eligibility/availability* report to their opponent.
if he's suspended by the NCAA, then he's not eligible to play for a half, I think he would have to be listed there.
if he was suspended for let's say "team rules", he's still eligible so would not have to be listed.

that's the thing. technically, Haulcy would be suspended by the Big12. he'd only be suspended by the NCAA if the Big12 or LSU appealed the suspension and it was upheld by the NCAA.

Please have haulcy trot onto the field and Dabo loses it on the refs and Dabo gets ejected ala Coastal Carolina coach.

no, he would be suspended by the NCAA.
it’s the NCAA rules that carry suspensions over to next game.

Sounds like Kelly didnt know until Wednesday.

Yep. I read that it was changed from an unsportsmanlike conduct to fighting after the fact, and that’s why the BYU player was suspended. The question then becomes where was that change documented and what is the SOP of notifying schools/players of that change. Not sure we have the answer to that.
