If LSU lost to Alabama at Alabama in 2011 they would have not gotten the rematch.

We were not the best team that year. This narrative needs to end. If Bama doesn't miss 55 field goals in the "game of the century" we lose - they outplayed us.

Question: Are placekickers awarded scholarships, do they ride the team jet, and do they wear shoulderpads and helmets?

If Alabama had outplayed us at every position then they would have won the game. And if special teams doesn't matter, then there's no problem with keeping BDP on staff.

Evidently to this guy 52 yd field goals are automatic. They missed fgs beyond 40 yds which means they were better. Never have understood how missing fgs means you are better.Guess we should have tried one from our on 20 according to this clown.

Your anger shouldn't be at Bama

This is correct... If the roles were reversed, I'd have been ecstatic LSU made the championship game when they didn't deserve to be there because the media propped them up.

But, we all know that wouldn't happen. The narrative would've been sure, LSU is one of two top teams, but they didn't win the division, conference, yadda yadda.

Alabama didn't deserve to be there either.

We beat Bama once that season and should've played OkSt. anyway (who we would've killed). I still consider that team in the top 10 best of all time, maybe even top 5.

WE never should have had to play Bama again...

Oh come on now, you don't think the eye test would've been conjured up for LSU? Maybe you're right, since it didn't apply to Michigan 2006.

LSU would've had a much better argument for a rematch though based on strength of schedule. Bama's greatest achievement was it's glorious loss to LSU.

1995 Nebraska didn't play the type of schedule 2011 LSU did.

They played and beat 4 teams that finished in the AP Top 10. And they did it by an average score of 49-18.

Where were these FG attempted from on the field?

They were being attempted from makeable distances. Yeah, many of them were long (40+ yards), but our kicker was slamming home 50+ yarders on the road in the Iron Bowl this year. If you are a kicker for a major FBS program like Alabama you should be able to make at least a couple of those attempts.

we beat 3 top 5 and 9 top 25 and average 29 point wins. They don't have that resume. Would have been 4 top 5 and 10 top 25 had we won

Their resume still wouldn't have been as good I don't think. Now I'm not arguing whether Neb 1995 would've beat LSU on the field. Probably would have.

Exactly. You didn't win. That's why 1995 Nebraska has an easy argument over 2011 LSU. Nebraska's W-L schedule from 1995 looks as follows:

@ Oklahoma State (W 64-21)
@ Michigan State (W 50-10)
vs. Arizona State (W 77-28)
vs. Pacific (W 49-7)
vs. Washington State (W 35-21)
vs. Missouri (W 57-0)
vs. #8 Kansas (W 49-25)
@ #7 Colorado (W 44-21)
vs. Iowa Sate (W 73-14)
@ #10 Kansas (W 41-3)
vs. Oklahoma (W 37-0)
vs. #2 Florida (W 62-24) *Fiesta Bowl

That LSU team would of been boatraced by '95 Nebraska, '01 Miami, '03 USC and '08 UF. That was a good team but not goat. GOTC was all hype

Putting Southern Cal 2003 and Florida 08 in that group is what is most funny.

Yes LSU would not have gotten the rematch and anyone who believes differently is not honest.

You can't even win in fantasy: This is with the accurate roster of Harvin at #1 RB and Murphy #1, Nelson #2, DT#3, AND Riley #4
