8 teams make it to nationals. There are two separate 4-team semifinals. The top two from each semifinal make it to the championship round (4 on the floor). The scores do not carry over from semifinals to finals. All four teams in the finals start even.

I think.

We aren’t hosting regionals until 2026 since it’s predetermined by a bidding system up to 4 years in advance

It’s based on the regional bracket so seeds 1,4,5, and 8 are in the evening session and 2,3,6, and 7 are in the afternoon session(seeding done based on NQS scoring) making us seed 2 for nationals

Are you talking about the first regional round? There's a bit to it and it's somewhat confusing. They seed it by NQS, but there are location and distance considerations that have to be made as well due to the host sites being pre-selected. Some of the seeds will get moved around, and there are play-in seeds and individual competitors as well.

Just a question. Do you think they have anything planned to do anything about scoring? It’s gotten way out of hand. Evan the announcers made a comment about it. It’s going to take a 198.5~7 to when the championship which is stupid.

We don’t have a chance in hell unless we all the sudden start landing. I think it’s in thier head know.

All you can hope at nationals is routines get scored/ranked correctly and that the actual best team(s) come out on top regardless if every routine is under or over scored.

Now scoring for the sport as whole does need an overhaul in the worst way. I think they need to address the current code with start values, routine requirements etc and adjust some rules… but I also think judges across the board have to be addressed in general. The quality of judging has gotten worse and worse for years. I think they need to be trained a bit better and actually have judging held accountable in some way. That itself won’t happen until the offseason (or we hope it happens at least)

Do you know if these judges are regional I mean do they score the same schools over and over again. If they don’t fly them to different areas your begging for favoritism. The scoring now is reticula’s when I first really started watching and going to meets was about 2012 and a 197 score was awesome now everybody scores that and I don’t think it’s because of better athletes. They have to address it at some point.

I said the same during the season about beam. It’s to late in the game barring an injury. This the 6 they are going with. Leadoff has to be steady Eddie. Annie never found consistency and idk Alexis kinda has issues with vertigo at the wrong time. I feel like I’d rather have a for sure calm hit from Konnor. My question has always been why not swap Haleigh and Aleah and change that darn leap pass for Kiya. We definitely have the puzzle, it’s just some of the pieces aren’t fitting. Proud of the team for making the final 8. The question is will this team be enough to win it all?

I actually would prefer Brock over Savannah on vault. Aleah doesn’t stick but the dynamics of her vault are better than Savannah’s. Aleah over rotates, Savannah has been under rotating that vault. Nationals will eat that vault alive.

Just getting to post since the event.

I was pretty pumped Alexis was back in the lineup on bars because she has been a beast in the leadoff spot. Did not realize the reason she has been out was because of... VERTIGO. Wtf. I ddn't grow up around gymnastics or have a kid in it, but that seems like about the worst possible thing for a gymnast to have. I mean her landing 100% looked like that kicked in. She always has had a little bit of a "soft knees" landing, but it looked like she just straight up leaned over and fell down like she was dizzy, not because of footing or rotation. Put the team in a bad spot but I also just felt bad for her because it's clearly an issue.

Haleigh is my favorite gymnast of all time. College, Olympic, anything. She is incredible. One of the best athletes to ever compete at LSU, male or female, I don't care. All that being said, I was pretty surprised she got a 10 on floor. That first pass she dragged her feet pretty strong, it definitely wasn'y a stuck landing.

It's hard to have any complaints about our floor because it's the best overall I've ever seen, but if I'm coach, I change up the order just a bit. I think I put Konnor in the 2nd or 3rd spot. Her routine has 10 potential, I think being the leadoff it pretty much takes a 10 off the board. Like it or not, the first routine on floor is always going to be underscored if anything, never overscored. I'd put Amari out there first, let her be the lock for a 9.9 and give Konnors routine a 9.95-10 potential.
