Bama looks like it will have the worst team it's had since 2007. If we lose to them at home, that is Miles' coup de grace.

Exactly. 17 senior starters this year at Bama. It's all right there for him to take.

But the second part is if the SEC is down and we run through it on talent alone, are we really better off? Miles will get a new contract. Best case scenario, SEC is down, LSU makes it to and wins in Atlanta, gets in the playoff, and win or lose Miles retires on a high note

one thing I've been worried about when considering getting rid of Miles is losing the hard-nosed mentality of our program.

You're kidding, right?

If we ever had it under Miles, we lost it some time ago.

We're as "hard-nosed" as a marshmallow.

If by hard-nosed you mean unfocused and pussified then yes we're hard-nosed.

Maybe Les will be offered a job and Aleva will give him a huge raise and extension

Honestly you're right, the whole SEC West will be down next year. Bama down, Dak gone, Brandon Allen and Alex Collins out, current Ole Miss juniors will be collecting their booster pensions. Still definitely having a 2-loss season. Auburn is probably going to win the West.

I didn't say we always execute on it. But that is certainly Miles' philosophy.

ay too much money on that contract

This is the only reason we can't fire him right now.
if miles is such a great guy like everyone on here claims, he should step down & negotiate a buyout that would be fair for both sides

I agree, plus we need to fire joe bitch alleva before we hire a head football coach. This year should be a public firing of Cam, BDP and Grimes. I would also can Moffit as well.

So 14 adn 15 have been (will be) just as bad as 2008. Why don't these years shake him up and cause him to change philosophy?

I agree. I figure another down year next year and he'll agree to step down.

I hope that's how it goes, I like the guy and hope he goes out with some dignity

We get Auburn, Florida, and Arkansas on the road.

Will be hard to go 2-1 in those games.

this is down year number 2 in a row if we lose to ole miss and the bowl game.

I agree with SFP i would like to see us run a bama style O, the bama o is built like ours except they have a qb that fits the system and they set plays up.

we could do the exact same thing but we have a spread option qb in a pro system. I swear its like miles chases stars instead of the right player.

I think he's sick. Might have had a stroke or something. When he talks, he struggles to talk and if you ever heard him talk 15 years ago, there is a difference.

yea.

the best we can do under the circumstances of the plague that is the LSU offense and miles being near the end is probably having to settle for a low-end NFL guy a la schotty/loeffler.

whoever it is, it will be the same offense, maybe with a new wrinkle or two and a tweak to air cameron's vertical principles
