This is not a static image. It re-loads as updates are provided and thus is always accurate. Admin -- please sticky for now.

No green line, hopefully.

Even if it is the blue line at least Lake Charles will be on the right side of the hurricane.

It actually looks a hell of a lot better for us as compared to earlier today. The most accurate models appear to have it going well west of us.

I say it looks ok and the odds are in favor of us. There is a good chance that it doesn't hit louisiana at all.

West of us means we get the "bad" side right?

Yep. I think they say the northeast quadrant is the most powerful?

Yeah, the northeast side of the hurricane is the worst . So if it goes west of us, we are more in the damage path, thats if it is not too far west of us. But if it goes in somewhere in the Lafayette, Lake Charles area, we could get some serious weather here in BR.

That's what I'm worried about. Those of you who are from the Acadiana area and west, isn't that the side we got for Rita, I mean I was out of power for over a week and I was in Acadia parish

Those can't be all the computer models, I just saw a margin of error that goes from Florida to Mexico.

Once it gets between the Yucatan peninsula and the U.S. Gulf Coast it's a crap shoot.

Best of luck to all. I hope the damned thing turns straight south into Hugo Chavez' house.

This thing is bad news regardless. There is already talk of gas prices going up in antcipation of this storm.

And whether it hits Texas or LA, gas prices will most likely soar.

No such thing. They each have their own situational niche.

If some were just inferior, why would they use it at all?

The issue is if the storm just enters the gulf and there is a chance that it could impact south lousiana then evacuations will be be called 72-hrs before the storm hits. It takes 72-hrs to get everybody out. Contra Flow would likely be started sometime Saturday therefore canceling the game. If this storm crosses Cuba into the Gulf, it is likely going to cause the game to be canceled, it doesn't matter if Baton Rouge won't directly be effected by the storm the roads through Baton Rouge are the evacuation routes therefore it creates a problem to play the game. The decision likely will be made if the game is cancelled I suspect by Friday possibly Thursday. Lets just hope it somehow goes off to Mexico and never really impacts the Gulf of Mexico.

Last I saw, landfall would be sometime Tuesday, making Saturday outside of the 72 hour window. Or at least early enough in it that they won't cancel the game.

And what makes you so sure that contra flow is inhernetly tied to the game occuring?
