thats fine, but what perplexes me is that we sign a qb yes, but a 3 star kid that is considered a "project" of which i hope he works out to be awesome. However, why dont we just sign a very good maybe 4 star guy that has the promise of being effective already? In other words, why cant we, as an elite program keep a couple really capable quarterbacks? It baffles my mind. Thoughts?

we have 2 top 5 QBs coming in next season. The hope is that one of Jennings and Harris figures it out and they are the QB until one of the new guys takes the job

Yeah...that's a good idea.

We should do that.

You seem as confused about our quarterback situation as Les Miles is. You two should get together and let Cam deal with the qb situation.

Its the reason we didn't get a big name running back the year before Fournette. This years QB wouldn't play anyways. Would rather load up next year when there is talent at that position in the state.

It's not obsession, it's simply an observation that inferior QB play has been a decisive factor in our last 4 losses to Bama--and these losses in turn cost us an NC among other things. Alabama is the team to beat in the SEC, and some of us wonder why we can recruit supremely talented teams--but only mediocre QBs. Legit question in my opinion.

Jennings and Harris were 4 stars. Impressed?

Like when Mett went 24-35 with 298 yards in 2012?

Want to be even more baffled?

LSU basically returns their entire offense next year. Alabama and Auburn both lose 7 starters on offense, including their QBs and many of their skill position players (much like LSU this past year).

Yet, it's almost a guarantee that LSU, with 4 and 5 star players littered all over the field, will produce an offense that's worse overall with worse QB play than both Auburn and Alabama, despite their personnel losses. LSU fans made excuses for the offense this year, but next year Auburn and Alabama will cruise on offense without missing a beat, despite suffering the same losses on offense that LSU did in 2014.

Jennings, Harris, Lee, and Jefferson were 4-stars. Harris and Lee were pretty high-end four stars.

Shep was a five-star.

The real question should be how we get anything but three-stars to agree to play in this offense.

You want the coaches to hire columbian hit men to kidnap the kids and force them to sign with LSU?

Just because you keep saying that doesn't make it true.

LSU is not elite anymore... We have been replaced by several programs on the rise...ie. FSU, MSU, UCLA, OSU, etc. We are middle of the pack program in the SEC West. Our declining performances over the last several years is an indication that change is needed. If Steele and O work out, great, but Miles has struggled with the QB most of his tenure at LSU. And it is one of the reasons he loses 3.4 games per season. Personally I don't see anything changing. We will have poor QB play next season and we have NO beef on the DL. We will get pushed around on defense like we did last year. Good news is we will have another good year rushing the ball but being one dimensional will cause us to lose 3-4 games next year too... QB recruiting, development, game planning and execution will still be our problem...JMO...

This QB is literally the first 3 star QB on campus since Steven Rivers.

Here is a list of 4 star or better QBs LSU has signed in the past 5 years:

Brandon Harris
Anthony Jennings
Hayden Rettig
Jerrard Randall
Zach Mettenberger

And we have Felipe Franks committed, who is a top 100 player overall.

I agree with you 100%. The dumb fricks on this board are banking on kids that aren't even signed. They might be shite if they even do come here.

wish LSU would go after pro style QB's from california and arizona that actually run offenses from under center.

you know, actually fit the QB to the offense you run instead of taking spread QB's and forcing them into a system they aren't comfortable with.
