I don't think he pouts, personally.

Agree to disagree...all I will say is, his behavior on the sideline is very different of other quarterbacks I've seen.

in 2007 we had flynn and perilloux

Other than in both years we had a racially mixed pair, there is little reason to make this comparison. RP ran the option as well as anyone LSU has ever had back there, and had a gun. An accurate gun. And JL is no MF either.

Good analysis Doc. I agree. I don't like it but until it stops working there is nothing to discuss.

Why don't y'all view it as Miles having so much faith in Lee that he can get JJ more reps running an option style offense?

Not sure who "y'all" would be but my main issue with bringing JJ in when Miles does is that our offense would be much better served by working on our passing game (espcly the vertical routes) when the game is still competitive.

I love the fact that we can pound the ball down teams throats in the 3rd and 4th quarter but we have yet to see our offense HAVE to throw the ball in pressure situations late in a game to pick up first downs and keep the clock moving or go down and score to win a close game. If the time comes when we have to (and I think we all know it will) do any of us have a doubt who will be behind center? We should be using these games to prepare for those situations rather than getting JJ playing time because he's a senior and a good guy. JMO but we have plenty of guys that can run the ball but its quite obvious we have only one QB on this team that can utilize our vertical weapons at WR effectively.

If he's a selfish pouter, then why do players like him? That doesn't seem to be a very likable personality trait IMO.

I think he is better, from a talent perspective.

He is more accurate, better release, goes through reads better.

Flynn was a smarter QB and a better leader, though. Flynn also had the run option.

I'm just telling you what I see on the sideline....especially when he gets pulled for Lee. It's not things you like to see from a leader.

I guess Guibleau can crank out a good article every once in a while.

He has some good points.

Really no coach is above criticism, esp one with some shaky decisions in the past. I struggle to see why some fans have a problem with this. Especially being on a message forum. This is why these boards are created. This is why this particular one thrives. Just accept it. It's ok to disagree

Fair assessment, though I think JL has shown great fortitude, and when the door (of Shady's) finally opened for it to be his team, he's done a great job leading. We will never know how good this kid could have been with another year under RP and a decent QB coach. He has a lot of skills.

What do you see?

I'm just curious, because it seems to me the players like and respond to him. I could buy into it, if the players seemed to avoid him and not like him, but they all seem to support him, his reinstatement and his playing time.

I would have to show you some video clips...but to me, it was pretty obvious, especially in the Tenn and Fla games last year...

I think that could be said about JJ too, though. . .to be fair.

99% of what has been wrong with Lee and JJ is lack of competent coaching and Crowton trying to force square pegs into round holes.

Crowton saw JJ, and for some reason saw Dennis Dixon. JJ was a Pocket QB that can run, he wasn't a running QB.

Had he played to JJ and Lee's strengths, while working to correct their deficiencies. . .we could be looking at a much different legacy.

I would have to disagree with this. I think Lee stares down his first option entirely too long and has trouble progressing through his reads MUCH more so than MF did especially his senior year.

Flynn sucked at going through his reads.
