Honestly if he started having back problems you don’t get to surgery without failing multiple conservative steps.
No doctor is doing back surgery without trying ESIs at least if it’s a disc injury.

This makes sense.
The rumors of it being a bulging and/or herniated disc meant that it healing on its own was no certainty...especially on a short timeline.
There was a guy on here saying he was close to the family didn't know what he was talking about. Sounds like he was counting on a last ditch treatment working when it was always unlikely.

Damn this sucks. I hope he can be healthy enough to pitch in a summer league to get the work in.
