Doesn't matter the view, he held the ball to long and needs to throw it away. He has a history of this, and he hasn't learned.

Then why call that play in your own endzone? It's no secret JJ takes too long to throw the ball on a consistent basis, so why call a high risk play for HIM? Maybe it's an 'easy-read' that so many of you are saying, but it's not the best play for JJ. The coaches' job is to put players in the best position to succeed and to coach around their flaws. Needless to say, they didn't do that. But, it was a gamble we could afford to take against WKU, and it didn't work out well at all. Consequently, we'll more than likely just run the ball again all three downs and punt from here on out against tougher competition like we did against 'Bama.

I can agree with you. It was a good call for the current down and distance. It was a bad call for that particular QB. However, maybe the coaches wanted to see if JJ had learned to perform in this situation.

If JJ doesn't recognize the coverage before hand and check out of the play, then he just throws the ball away as soon as he does see the route coverage. Zero risk.

BTW why were the Mitch Joseph and M. Ford not considered eligible receivers in the area?

I think with the two current QB's, 3-4 games left in their career the time for experimenting should have already passed. I believe playing to their strengths instead of their weaknesses at this point would be better. YOu have two QB's, you don't have to have one who can do it all, and that one QB certainly isn't going to be created at the 11:00 hour. The play was a great call, it's that play with the personnel that is iffy.

I can not necessarily argue with that. However, you have to admit there has not been a continuity of play from JJ this season. Supposedly his QB decision and passing process were improved in the off season so this was his first time to be tested in a game on those issues since the offseason.

Please tell me you aren't serious? I am stating that even one of the best QB's in the world can make a bad decision. People on here want to nitpick every damn play. Neither of our QB's will play in the NFL and both of them will continue to make bad plays.

Good point. JJ never holds the ball too long if his primary receiver isn't open.

JJ is a mediocre college QB. Please show me the perfect QB who never makes a bad decision?

Brady did same exact thing last night-guess he sucks also?

Both QB's made a mistake. It happens.
We shouldn't ride JJ over this. But let's not say he "had no time" either... okay?

What should infuriate you is a senior QB with over 30 starts still can not handle the basics of the position in critical down and distance situations...
