Yeah playing in the bowl game is worth trading being an NFL player for being a fricking plumber

Stop ASSuming. Playing for a national championship versus a regular bowl game are two different situations.

You come off as being a more selfish person than Greedy is. At least Greedy is doing so to secure the financial success of his family. You just want LSU to win a football game. It's easy to talk shite behind a keyboard when it's you that has nothing to lose.

I'm just saying "my family is more important" doesn't work as a reason to skip a bowl. I don't care if he skips. Like I said, that's up to him. The bowl is largely meaningless. But is his family more important than a National Championship? I would certainly hope so!

I know some people here think getting him a job at Boudreaux's Corner market would make up for it.

I would never want someone like you on any team that I played on....even a friendly game of badminton.

Cause it’s a virtual certainty he gets a career ending injury in the bowl game.

It’s clearly a risk reward thing

The reward of winning the fiesta bowl is significantly smaller than winning a CFP game.

This is risk reward balancing. Which is everything in life. If you can’t do that you are going to eventually get burned.

Ask Jaylon Smith if he would do things over again. I’m sure he would like a few more millions in his pocket

I’m glad you mentioned this, as Smith has actually commented on the subject. He’s said he’d make the same decision again. Swing and a miss

Skipping the playoff or NC would probably hurt his draft status.

The NFL has shown that it doesn’t care about skipping lower bowls.

Your point is dumb.

Agreed people seem to think the NFL will overlook that, but not competing for a championship when given the opportunity is going to be a red flag.

Greedy is doing the mature thing and acting in the best interest of his young daughter!! Which is more than I can say for some of the supposed "adults" on this site.

Canned sports answer

I made no commentary. Question asked and answered.

But, Jaylon playing should have been expected. He's a player that never took plays off and played just as hard vs schedule filler games as he did vs top teams. In the end he's doing fine and got a good contract and is due a very lucrative 2nd contract soon. Very similar to Devin White as a 100% player.

Lol I make the point to say he can do whatever he wants. He doesn't owe me or you anything. But you're the one who said his family is more important than the bowl. Well no shite.

But are they not more important than a National Championship? You're the one with a weak response. It's just lip service. "It's best for his family." It would also be best for him family if he sat out a hypothetical playoff though, right?

Maybe when you start accepting that LSU Football is an amateur sport and nothing more than a tryout/stepping stone for the elite athletes to make it to the NFL, you won't get as upset anymore.

Why are people so divided on this issue? To play professionally in the NFL and to earn millions of dollars is motivating and alluring to all athletes.
