OP is correct. A man of integrity must follow through with his commitments especially to his friends and teammates. I suggest to anyone who disagrees rethink how they view life and what is important to make you whole and happy.

So should an industry. LSU will do nothing for him if he gets injured. He is a commodity for them, and eventually the NFL, and nothing more. As long as that's the case, I would always support someone putting their livelihood, and that of their families, before a responsibility to a company or organization.

And anyone who disagrees with that should probably rethink their life and what is important. Family is key, whatever that means to an individual, and should trump everything else.

I have, and I have not changed my mind. The financial security of my family is the most important thing to me. I enjoy hanging out with my friends, but if I have to skip a guy's night out every so often to provide for my family I will. No doubt about it.
