ok two out of all the thousands who still managed to do both play in the bowl games and take care of family and those two both still made out fine. The odds of a injury that is going to affect you draft position is very small. Way to small to justify quitting on your team like that. It just goes to character and respect.

No one ever said they weren't small, just that they exist.

This is just ridiculous. Greedy has never done anything to make anyone question his character.

He is quitting. He is quitting on his team, coaches and the University. People that helped develop him. He didn't even inform his coaches until after the fact. How honorable is that? It isn't. AT. ALL.

The risk is so infinitesimally small... it's laughable. And the one example of it happening, the guy is still making millions in the NFL.

It's about honor. Integrity. Respect. Those of you defending this behavior are what is wrong with society. Period. Money and greed (no pun), over honor, integrity, respect.

One of my favorite quotes... "People aren't loyal to you, they are loyal to their need of you. Once their need changes, so does their loyalty."

He has now put his team in a precarious position... and there is NOTHING honorable about that.

And the odds are just as great as waking up and walking outside and slipping on a curb..... It's ridiculous to try and argue this point.

The odds of him getting injured the next couple of months from "TRAINING", are 1000x more than his odds of getting injured in one game.

So, is he not going to train for the combine either???

no it doesn't make him a bad person and I will still follow his career in the NFL. Just wont be able to view him the same way I will Devin White and all the other players who don't quit on their team. I get that he feels he has his reasons and respect his decision but his character did take a hit. Most players in his situation take the minimal risk and want to be their with their team and teammates and play to the end.

I am, I’m speaking for myself. That’s why I gave examples of my favorites, not everyone’s.

I think you guys severely underestimate the memories of average Joe who haven’t heard his name called except four times over the course of a year (due to his amazing play). What do you think of when I say Dylan Moses, Kyle Turley, Trey Quinn? Is it how great of a LB Dylan is, Turley’s pass protection, or the passes Quinn caught during his one good year?

Yeah a-hole

Not NFL execs or anyone who actually matters.

He didn’t invent this and he did not make the system that rewards this.

This isn’t a low character move he isn’t out doing coke and getting suspended.

The practice time helps the team and the young guys for next season. It's a reward for a good season.

It is to me unless he blows it with a stupid coaching blunder.

This is an absolutely horrible thing to do and I've said as much every time some brings it up.

Is it necessary to wake up or walk outside? The only thing ridiculous is your dumbass trying to equate necessary risks and unnecessary risks as if they're the same thing.

you may think of it as lagniappe but it is in fact a very important game to this program. The pollsters don't think of it as lagniappe. The fans after last years last second loss to ND certainly didn't think of it as lagniappe. For a lot of people around the country this is going to be the memory of LSU 's 2018 football season, the bowl game they watched on new years day 2019. LSU has a lot on the line with this game.

Literally 0% chance of this game winning us anything other than this game.

By the time recruiting next year comes around most people won’t remember the fiesta bowl that wasn’t even a CFP bowl.

He’ll we just recruited one of the best RBs in the country with the 58th ranked Rushing offense in YPG (87th in YPC) because he thought he could com in and play right away.

Again, necessary risks and unnecessary risks.

Training - necessary
Playing the game (that is your career)- necessary

Swimming in open water with great whites - not necessary
Playing basketball at the ymca before draft - not necessary
Chasing your GF around on a wet floor - not necessary
Playing in the 4th quarter when you team is up by 30 - not necessary

Waking up - necessary
Walking - necessary
Making breakfast - necessary

I think you are the one greatly confused on what necessary and unnecessary risk is.
