Valdez throws the 4th hardest sinker amongst LHP in the mlb w/ the 6th best horizontal break in the league.
Valdez has the 6th most RPM on his curveball in the MLB.

We gotta stop using Greg Maddux as a data point. It's like using Barry Bonds as a data point and saying "why doesn't every guy just take the balls and hit home runs on the strikes?"
I mean, the pitcher’s job is mainly to throw strikes and get outs. Hard to do both when you’re not getting it around the plate consistently enough.

This new pitching coach we have has got to go. Pitching has been questionable all year. He obviously doesn't have what it takes to coach at LSU.

What's the point of these threads?
They come to start threads and complain..."it's just how sad they are"
Then give us the brightspots Mr. Baseball and educate all the sad people.

94.5 mph sinkers weren't "normal in the 90s"
Lolololol
How about Mo’s cutters for the Yankees? Or Clemens, Ryan, etc.. they didn’t measure that shite in the 90’s dumbass. Doesn’t mean balls didn’t have high spin rate.

It's elite because he throws 95, with movement, exactly where he wants.
Lolololol what I posted. He can throw it to any spot he wants in any count WHICH IS COMMAND. Spin rate my arse. Changes have been fooling people since the 1920’s.
Cowan is elite because he can command exactly 2 pitches - which people like you would discount.
He isn’t throwing 95 with high spin yet he makes hitters look silly. Why?
