Speaking of Herbstreit, one of the best broadcast moments of the entire season was 3rd and 17 at Texas.

Transferring from OSU and the subsequent season (losses to Bama, UF, the hit he took vs UCF) definitely shaped his mentality for the 2019 season.
Completely agree. After the 7 ot loss and the game against UCF on top of every other motivation, we should’ve known he was gonna go scorched earth on everybody. His confidence started peaking late in the year and I can remember thinking to myself damn he’s gonna be fricking good next year.

I actually told a friend of mine after the Auburn game of 2018 that I thought Burrow was arguably the best quarterback in the country. I saw something in him that early. Obviously that was a bit premature, but the makings of a champion were being assembled that season.

TOTAL bullshite — He had to come to LSU to run the Saints Spread and Shred with Joe Brady before his numbers went ballistic — Its the system — If he’s at OSU, he likely duplicates 2018 numbers
Agree — Joe put in 80+ hr weeks reviewing film and followed the plan to dissect defenses
In 2020, when Brennan has 500 yard passing games and we’re scoring 50 points what will be said then. Of course, it will be kudos to the SYSTEM

One thing Joe did was to elevate the play of the entire offense. The other players knew before anyone else how good they could be with him at the helm, and they worked their asses off so they could play at his level. The result was the best college offense in the history of the game, bar none.

I know it was Stanford... But I don't think people really realize Luck had quite a bit of talent around him... Toby Gerhart(just one year so we dont have to count him, but also Doug Baldwin, Ty Montgomery, Zach Ertz and Coby Fleener. Those aren't terrible guys to pass to. Also had a Guard taken in the first and a tackle taken in the second.

Spot on...... let’s hope Myles can become some of that...... Burrow was THE MAN when he stepped on the field..... the offense trusted him and so did the coaches...... he made plays that were smart when he needed them to get that crucial 1st down our take time off the clock..... every game matters and he treated it that way, however when the stakes were higher he got even better.......

The thing I love about Joe Burrow is that he was a FOOTBALL PLAYER - not "just a QB".
The greatest example was against Bama when he turned the ball over in the pocket (either a fumble or a batted ball). In less the one second, he was completely in defense mode and he made a scoop-and-score-saving tackle on the guy who recovered the ball. Completely sacrificed his body against a much bigger player.
