“We’re going to try to put more (defenders close to the line of scrimmage) than they can block,” Chavis said. “I don’t know if it’s going to be possible this week, but that’s what we’re going to try to do. Hopefully we’ll dare them to throw it. Maybe we can get them to throw it about 50 times.”

id rather Newton throw 50 times, its actually a pretty good strategy....

Im sure he doesnt intend on stacking the box every single play, but I guarantee we play a lot of man in this game.

I sure wouldn't do what Arkansas did.

The only problem with man coverage is you can run defenders off and leave wide open running lanes for Cam if he gets past the D line... This worries me so I think we will have to have a man/zone scheme for almost all plays. Play a zone under 10 yards but keep man to man coverage on receivers.

Yes, but presumably if you go man everywhere on the field, you will have enough defenders remaining to devote solely against the run where a couple of them can lock down on containing the outside.

Ehh I'd love to see Cam forced to throw almost every play. We got way better cornerbacks than they do WRs.

Like seriously....our cornerbacks are bigger, faster, and stronger than their WRs without a doubt. I'd take that matchup any day. CM is pretty much a lucky passer at best. If you watch the game tape the only time he can really make a good throw is if his target is 5 yards open.

you do know Cam is completing almost 75% of his passes and averages more yards per carry on plays where the defenses blitzes. All of his picks have come in backed off zone coverages with no blitz.

You do know that there is a reason that PP is in Heisman talks?

Why is it so difficult to comprehend that a player can be that good at a position, especially when there is a QB at Auburn who is being talked of in similar fashion?

PP is that good and on the other side Mo/Trex will give him good support and that will screw up your passing game.

one difference between Cam and PP. Cam touches the ball every play. PP does not. You have to have to ball to score.

Who is talking about blitzing? stacking the box does not equal blitzing necessarily.

Has he throw a pass that crossed the line of scrimmage yet this season?

He said force you to throw, not blitz when you do. Oh, btw... the blitzes he sees, or doesn't, this Saturday won't be what he's seen so far.
