Yes from '86 to '95 after which it was renamed after their title sponsor.

The Cap One Bowl is contractually obligated to select the available SEC team with the best record or within one game of the best record.

If SC loses, they will be 9-4. I guess the question is is that within one game of the best record (LSU 10-2)? Not according to my math but maybe it is based on wins.

Started as Tangerine, became Florida Citrus in '83, Cap One Citrus in '01 and Cap One in '03.

I think he is right. AU wins, Bama or RKansas is in the Cap 1. AU loses and it is AU or Rkansas in the Cap 1. I can see no scenario where South Carolina ends up in the Cap 1. Cap 1 has never taken the SEC CG loser (FWIW)

the capital one bowl must take the best available after the bcs games or a team within one game of that. so that would be LSU with the best record after the two bcs teams or bama which is witing one game of LSU

Assuming an Auburn win:
AU - NCG
Arky - Sugar
Bama - Cap1
LSU - Cotton
USCe - Outback

Assuming a USCe win:
USCe - Sugar
AU - BCS at-large
Arky - Cap1
LSU - Cotton
Bama - Outback

That's my thought...
