The article is well wriitten, and correct. If you look at our roster with that defense and the possibility that burrow is the real deal, 12-0 is possible. If you look at the u knowns, returning g starters, inexperience, and schedule, 6-6 isn't unrealistic. Truly the widest possible variance in projecting the lsu season that I've ever seen.

5-7 and I’m very disappointed, but not surprised!

12-0 I’m ecstatic, but not surprised!

Either way- it’s “forever LSU!!”

“How good does our offense need to be anyway? Last year’s offense ranked 76th in the nation in scoring. And LSU came within merely having a kicker who hit attempts from inside 40 yards OR playing against kickers who would actually miss from over 50 yards from winning 11 games.”

A little common sense from a writer.......finally! Great read

Best part IMO:

quote:

Stop worrying about the burden of expectations. Stop making yourself miserable trying to argue about preseason projections. Because remember, first and foremost, every season is a party. There’s only twelve games and you have to cherish each one of them. Maybe you get one or two more, but then… it’s over. And we’re back in that long, dark offseason. So instead of dreading that this might be the year that LSU doesn’t do X or doesn’t win enough games to meet some standard, let’s just celebrate each game as it comes.

I think 7-5 wins is my threshold. 7 wins and I am extremely disappointed, but I will move forward to next year. 5-7 or 6-6 and I will lose my fricking mind.

I thought this was. It mentions the team two states to the East.

quote:

It’s scary to believe, I know. Because having hope means there’s a chance you’ll be disappointed. Hell, it’s a guarantee. You’re gonna lose games. And most teams aren’t Bama, getting to pretend that the loss doesn’t happen and still get to back into the playoffs without even winning your division

This is why I don't understand all of the bashing. A lights out defense, a good enough offense and get some decent play from special teams and LSU can beat anybody that they line up against. Yet you still have people slamming team and coach.

How do you come back from that?

My guess is the people here that have been downing team and coaches transition seamlessly into the rah rah geaux LSU. That's bullshite.

Reminds me of 2014. Before that season everyone said 6-6 or 10-2 wouldn’t be surprising. They went 8-5 but should have beat ND and Bama to OT, with Jennings at the helm.

I actually liked this one paragraph the most:

quote:

First off, stop with that. LSU always plays a tough schedule. We’re not suddenly going to be afraid of a tough schedule now. This is what we signed up for. Tough schedules are great because know it means? More good games against good teams. Isn’t that the whole point of football season? Isn’t that why we’re fans? To see good games?

To all you doubters cowering in fear because you’re suddenly worried Mississippi State is good (lol) or that Mullen is going to make a 4-8 team an East contender (lmao) or that Jimbo is about to sprinkle magic QB dust and end the streak against LSU (ROTFLMAO).
