Good hire for LSU! Lots of returning talent for 2022 as well as great incoming class of recruits. There will be lots of excitement next February when baseball seasons rolls around again! He will get the job done!!

I wanted Godwin but Johnson is our guy so I'll ride with him until he starts over tinkering the lineup

The program needed new blood desperately. I like the hire from what I know about him. If nothing else, our plate approach should be vastly improved. Hopefully he brings in a great pitching coach as well.

IN

Let the sunshine pump!!! One hour into this hire and people are already writing him off…

Let the man at least touch Louisiana soil and maybe, just maybe, assemble a staff, have a press conference on his vision for the program, etc, before we start digging his grave.

Truth is we won’t know for 5 years how good this is. It’ll take that long for his first full recruiting class to be sophomores.

Half the fan base will think he signed the freshmen that are going to impress in 2022.

Whatbis get it done?

That .500 record in pac 12 play up until this year isn’t getting it done.

Let’s hope somehow he’s better in the sec…

We knew in 2 years with Smoke. Or was it 3, can't remember. I agree 5 years will make it fully his guys though. Honestly, I like the hire if he can find someone to develop good pitching.

Smoke was doing things in game and missing on recruits so badly a move was made in 4 years which was unheard of for baseball. It’s not comparable.

I’m not going to try and sell him for you. But anyone with this take hasn’t looked at his resume. He’s been pretty “elite” at every stop. He’s certainly not bad simply
because he wasn’t on your radar. His resume dating back to his time at the minuscule Univ. of San Diego is remarkable. He’s recruited and developed elite talent every place he’s been.
