i wonder how many of these"3rd & 19's" were brought on by TERRIBLE qb play on 1sr & 2nd downs.why not mention that ?
Why don't you mention Miles asked GC to move on and kept JJ? Why don't you read what Miles has been quoted in the press regarding GC's play design, play calling and lack of execution due to inability to convey his thoughts and coherently communicate/teach the QB's. Some would call it esoteric bullshite when simplicity would have been much more effective.

I still can't believe some of u want to start jj because he is a senior. He is the worst college qb I have seen in all my years! In 3 years he has played 3 good games. The rest of the time he pouted on the side lines when not in the game.

The common theme is the best should start. If that is Mett, great, if not we all should hope Krags turns the light bulb on in JJ's head. Many players improve after upgrading their coaching. Either guy is one injury away from being out of a game/season.

Then, you haven't seen very many college QBs or your ability to evaluate the ones you have seen is limited.

I saw a piece on ESPN about Superbowl matchups NEXT year??????
This is a slow news time of the year. Pure junk!
The Kragger has not even seen his players in uniform or drills yet. I think the player who starts is the one who first picks up the system best and second who executes it best.
Crowton told me that Matt Flynn knew his system completely in six weeks. JJ never got it....not ever. JL could not execute the system.
I would say it is a wide open position right now. Hope it is JJ but I don't think the Kragger will like the happy feet and indecision.
Four wideouts and a TE, lets wing it baby like the Packers and Saints.

Those are the very reasons many of us on this board don't want the starting job simply given to him because he's the incumbent.
I don't give a flying flip who starts cause I don't have any investment in having a favorite QB just a favorite team, but nothing was "given" to JJ in 08 when as a true Fr he was asked to step in and stop the LSU bleeding.
And 2 years later, 2 NR years later, 20 wins later, a Top 8 national program later, he still is the LSU QB and to me, hes paid his dues to be the starting LSU QB till some takes it away from him on the field and I haven't seen that happen yet.
The idea that Mett should be treated somehow equal to even JL or that the QB position is up from grabs from the getgo to someone who hasn't done the 1st thing for LSU but sign his name is amusing, but hardly based in any kind of sports reality that I know.
If Mett comes in and takes the job by his efforts, the 1st of which is yet to be seen, great for him and LSU.

with a new coord coming in it gives miles a way out of not starting JJ.....he can say mett or Lee picked it faster...we know now that Miles wants to be able to throw the ball down field....

Start? Start for who? He's absolutely terrible. Maybe start as a running back for LA Tech. He can't throw, has terrible technique, poor delivery, poor decision making, can't read defenses, and couldn't fake out 3rd graders with his play action!! Surely you jest!!!

If JJ starts it will be only because Mett is not ready. We better hope that is the reason. If he is not better than JJ then we are in for a let down. Mett was brought in as a potential top tier SEC QB. Neither JJ or JL are even close to that. Surely, they may play better than they have prior to being seniors, but they do not possess the qualities to reach the top. It is that simple. Does Mett? We shall see.

JJ= backup TE
JL= we shall see...prob backup
Mett= Starter
the real competition is between lee and mett
book it...

Either you're full of poopoo or GC was blowin smoke up your azz.
2007 at best had a sprinkling of GC plays added to the offense from '06.
The '06 and '07 offense were pretty hard to tell apart. '07 team just caught all the right breaks.

I will be shocked if Jefferson doesn't start against Oregon no matter what happens in the spring and fall. Miles is going to give him the shot in that game and if he plays well and leads the team - he'll be the guy. The question will be how quckly will Miles pull him if he starts to struggle. My hope is that he will not wait till the 3rd or 4th game but make a move in the 2nd or 3rd quarter of the first game if that is what is needed.
