According to this article from the Statesman in Texas:

LSU has had 16 first team All American defensive backs, and Texas has had 11.

LSU currently has 9 former defensive backs on NFL rosters, while Texas has 7.

You're missing

Huff(2006)Thorpe winner
Griffin(2007)
Ross(2008) Thorpe winner

Texas has 14 1st round DBs but have 6 since 2000.

Thats fine but your best DB this year is Sterns. Sterns would be sitting behind LSU safetys until next year. That's why he changed his mind and signed with Texas.

I just love how everyone wants to copy us with "DBU"

I know this is an unpopular truth around here and people like to just ignore it, but Texas was calling themselves DBU way before we were.

Now recently we’ve earned it and currently there is no DBU other than LSU, but to say Texas copied it from us is just incorrect.

Downvote him all you want, but he’s right. Well, except for the “Rogers” part.

I honestly can't tell if you are dead serious or just trolling Texas fans really hard. You just named one past prime current player and a bunch of retired guys, yet Texas is supposed to be DBU??

That is hilarious. When the elite DB recruits from Texas stop leaving the state to play at LSU over Texas, then we can revisit this conversation.

My mistake, I have LSU with 19 1st rounders since 2000 with 6 being dbs, I have Texas with 16 1st rounders with 6 dbs.

I expect LSU's numbers to go up 1-2 this year, Delphit is top 10 pick this year, plus possibly Fulton, if I were to guess not 1st rounder but too early to tell.... could go either way on Fulton.

Of course, Cleveland got a freaking steal with Greedy last draft.

How is this debateable? Texas has as many frist round DB's this century as LSU has all time.

Lots of schools may have a legit argument vs LSU as DBU. Ohio State primarily. It's really hard to quantify this because numbers does not necessarily mean quality and UDFA can and do become standout players. But raw draft numbers are easy to come by so here is what I have compiled.

Since 1937 (First Draft to list DB)
Ohio State 68
USC 52
LSU 50
Alabama 47
Texas 46
Florida 41

Since 1991 (First Draft to list S)
Ohio State 40
Alabama 31
Florida 30
LSU 25
Texas 23
USC 22

Since 2000 (20 Years)
Ohio State 30
Florida 23
Alabama 23
LSU 22
USC 18
Texas 17

Since 2010 (10 Years)
LSU 14
Ohio State 14
Alabama 14
Florida 12
Texas 9
USC 9

As you can see, out of the 6 schools listed, Texas is never better than 5th. LSU varies from tied for 1st in the last 10 years, to 4th in the last 20 years and since 91, and 3rd all time behind Ohio State and USC.

DBs on current rosters based on most recent data on ESPN

Alabama 14
Ohio State 13
LSU 11
Florida 10
Texas 8
USC 7

Ohio State can question if this is debatable because they are 1st or second virtually every way you look at it but Texas trying to debate this is laughable to me.

But I'm a stat guy, maybe you're one of those "feelings" kind of guys that seem to hang around Austin so much.

Keep it weird, dude

First game of season when everyone thinks they are going to be great

VS

bowl game when realities have set in and some star players are sitting out to prepare for NFL draft and former contender teans are disappointed they aren't playing on a different weekend in January.

We had something to prove last year against UCF. SOme years, our players were just there for the trip. Practices were hit or miss and they had no curfew. Lots of parties. VERY different environment from a regular season game.
We lose Saturday - no excuse. You beat us. But it's not gonna happen unless we have 4 turnovers. Tigers 35-24
